December 8, 200421 yr Phil Nevin and Jay Payton for Juan Pierre and Juan Encarnacion. Let the fun being :lol
December 8, 200421 yr id rather keep pierre and give a healthy encarnacion a shot. he had a decent year in 03.
December 8, 200421 yr Great once Nevin gets off the juice then what? He also makes 8.5 mil. Gosh I truly hope this is a rumor and nothing more. We are also trading our heart and soul. :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead
December 8, 200421 yr didn't we hear about this rumor a week or two ago? We'd take on about $4 million, I'm not sure if we can stand to take that on and still expect to sign Leiter. I think it would be a great move if Beinfest can get it done. Enc and Payton basically cancel out Then you have Nevin and JP. It's obvious we've lacked pop in our lineup and Nevin would definetly provide that pop. JP is my favorite player on the team behind Conine, but if Beinfest can make a move that will improve us a lot like this one would, I wouldn't object to it at all.

I agree we need more power in the lineup but I don't think it should come at the expense of JP. Payton can't carry JP's jockstrap at leadoff.

Lo Duca is the perfect #2 hitter (and a terrible #3 hitter). You stick Nevin in there with Lowell and Cabrera and you have a very formidable middle of the lineup. Payton would probably hit 7th.

I'd just hate to see Pierre go.
December 8, 200421 yr wow.... I kinda dig it even though Nevin is atrocious in the field..... now if he played 1B :shifty
December 8, 200421 yr id rather keep pierre and give a healthy encarnacion a shot. he had a decent year in 03. 629456 Wasnt this rumor posted elsewhere? Because I said the same thing...I would rather keep JP and Enc. Salaries are cheaper and Enc has GOT to break through this year, right? :mischief Also, we are a better base running team and that in of itself is a weapon.
December 8, 200421 yr i say no. we lose our only SB threat and lose alot of fans in the process. yea i know how would i say we lose fans? well to many bandwagoners it would be considered dumping the team. JP is a fan favorite and most "fans" dont recognize the name phil nevin.either way i beleive we get worse. payton is overatted and nevin is injury prone and a liability on the field on defense.

December 8, 200421 yr This trade would be terrible for the Marls, since Payton is not, and never has been, a great player. Enc> Payton
December 10, 200421 yr Author Here's one I pick up today, On the trade block? AJ/ Juan Encarnacion for a future starter(Double AA starter) and an everyday player(left-handed OF) Do I believe? NO...but I thought I'd pass it along, though lets play the what if game If the Marlins want to Juan so badly with AJ having to go with him to get anything good in return. Why not trade AJ/Juan for Hudson? I know the A's want a 2B, then work out a three-way deal....just a thought
December 10, 200421 yr Adam Dunn, Adam Dunn?! :deadhorse 631829 Sweet Jesus, please. 631831 You know if we ever do get Adam Dunn me and you need to go celebrate.
December 10, 200421 yr Depends who the left handed hitting outfielder is... Would I pull the trigger for someone like Raul Ibanez, then no... If we're talking about a Garrett Anderson or Lance Berkman, then sure.
December 10, 200421 yr i wouldnt even do AJ for Hudson strait up. i say no to this ghey deal. AJ will make less should we sign him longterm. Hudson would be gone after 1 year. f*** No.
December 10, 200421 yr If it's Dunn......meh... :plain 631837 Yeah, 50 HRs, 110 RBIs, .370 OBP. Talk about assy stats. :plain
December 10, 200421 yr If it's Dunn......meh... :plain 631837 Yeah, 50 HRs, 110 RBIs, .370 OBP. Talk about assy stats. :plain 631839 Especially if you put Cabs infront of him and Lowell behind him.
December 10, 200421 yr Too many K's.... Stats can sometimes be deceiving in cases like these. He makes way too many unproductive outs... Ask Billy Beane if he'd want Adam Dunn.
