Delgado hit .292/.366/.385 in 130 at-bats for the Mets last season. He might replace Mike Mordecai as the Marlins' sixth infielder.

DiFelice is a solid backup and Wilson Delgado did well for the Mets at the end of last season...

 

Sucks for Matt Treanor though...

Atleast we don't have to face Delgado anymore.. that dude crushed us last year.. somehow.

Small Market moves for small market teams.

Marlins signed RHP Antonio Alfonseca, who had been with the Braves, to a one-year, $300,000 contract with an option for 2006.

 

Alfonseca, who failed his physical because of a back problem, should still be able to make close to the $4.75 million he was due to receive from the Marlins over the next two years. He can earn an additional $1.7 million next year, and the vesting option for 2006 kicks in at 65 games.

Bentz had a 5.86 ERA in 27 2/3 innings for the Expos last season. If the season started tomorrow, he might have a spot in the Florida pen. However, the Marlins will keep looking for a lefty to pair with Matt Perisho. They also have Rule 5 pick Luke Hagerty.

I dunno if any of those guys will make the team. I think Josh Wilson would be better option as replacing Mordi, but I guess we will see

Not that bad, DiFelice would be a decent backup catcher, although there's always a chance Treanor outplays him in ST.

I think both players will help contribute on the bench if they make the team. I would feel more comfortable with DiFelice as the backup catcher, rather than the inexperienced Treanor.

I'll take Charles Skinny instead.

What in the world is DeFelice adding? A Ramon Castro like bat with less power and a bit older? At least having Treanor he is the future, unless they just want him playing in AAA ball and not get him ph abs.

 

And Wilson is there. Has major league experience and will take a seat on the bench. The 957 fielding percantage means if I see him in the field I will puke.

I don't think DiFelice makes the club out of spring, but I expect Delgado to break camp with the club. I think there's some potential there. I do like the DiFelice signing because in the event that someone gets injured, we've got a veteran backup ready to go.
