July 11, 200322 yr Encarnacion, because a number 2 hitter that bats . 320 is a luxary. Production from your OF is a neccesity.
July 11, 200322 yr Encarnacion since we already have a good hitter and leadoff hitter like castillo....Juan has speed and hits for power.
July 11, 200322 yr agree with wild card, also, Juan is a 5 tool player, and those power and run production numbers can even go up in time, he is MORE valuable, especially with luis not running as well...i would miss him, but juan has more value
July 11, 200322 yr Author Personally, I'm not so convinced as you guys are...Good 2nd basemen are alot harder to find than good OFers/ How many 2nd basemen are better than Castillo? 5? 6? How many OFers are better than Juan? 30? 40? I like em both...But I'm just not too sure which one would we'd be better off keeping if we had a choice.

It is a luxary. You HAVE to have good OF's. If we don't have Encarnacion, we have the worst OF in baseball statistically. Plus, Encarnacion brings everything you want in a player to the table. He's a 5-tool guy. It's not easy to find guys like that. Plus, Castillo makes much more $ than Juan.

Theres also 3x as many OF's than 2bmen and its an easier defensive spot.

July 11, 200322 yr damn homers!!!!!!!!!!! juan has NO power. he has NO arm. read scouting reports, observe games. you people wear such teal tinted glasses its not even funny.
July 11, 200322 yr juan has no arm? no power?(well not good power atleast, perfect for the pro) are you being sarcastic?
July 11, 200322 yr onto juan E. he is not a 5 tool player. i dont consider a .280 hitter as one possesing that tool. he is slightly above average in the hitting department. his power is decent, not spectacular. his speed is above average, not out of this world. his defense and arm is pretty good. castillo is worth more when healthy.
