Torborg and McKenon - No Comparison

Featured Replies

I'm sick and tired of some of the idiots in WQAM stating that there is no big difference between Torborg and McKeon. What the hell are they thinking?

That's like saying that there are no differences between two school teachers.

A good student will do good with any teacher. However, a good student will EXCEL with an excellent teacher.

I thinks that's the case with the Marlins, good players playing to their best for an excellent manager.

I for one like the way fightin Jack is using the running game. Rather than the live by the run die by the run way Torborg used to play, jack still uses the running game, but instead of everytime we get on base we try and steal a base we pick our spots.

Great analogy. You should call that moron Ed Kaplan!

And that is called intelligent running, not running for the sake of running like Torborg did. McKeon is the manager that we should have had since the very beginning: a guy that calls things by their name and does not babysit anyone. Enough already about potential and start winning! My kind of manager. :thumbup

I sure don't miss watching McKeon walking back and forth on the dugout when the game was on the line. LoL

Torborg didnt know how to manage good. He put wrong people at the wrong places specially the Bullpen! McKeon is a smarter manager and Knows how to handle the Bullpen Better.

Big O filling in for Kaplan (No the Big O at WQAM is not Olympic Stadium from Montreal)

It's a Marlins Lovefest! "Marlins better than Dolphins, Man." "Marlinz rule!"

To admit that McKeon is a better manager than Torborg would be to admit that the Marlins ownership and front office are not the thieving, moronic, cheapskate group that WQAM (and the rest of the south florida media) have been claiming for two years. So instead they play a fool's hand, claiming it makes no difference who manages the team. Horse manure.

These must be horrible days for LeBatard and Alzegary. It's wasn't too many months ago that Alzegary set out to destroy FanFest for the team and fans throughout South Florida with his despicable performance that day, a performance that I might add included inviting LeBatard on to bash the team.

It will be interesting to see how Richard Bush (Herald sports editor) plays the win in Montreal and signing Urbina. Clark Spenser must be working his butt off trying to find something negative enough to please his boss.

Like I said when Torborg orignially came on board....

He sucked. He was a mediocore manager at best.

Trader Jack....did good things for the Padres in the 80s, taking a team with limited talent and making them a competitive force in the west.

Then with the Reds in the late 90s.

Who GAF if he is 72.

yaaaaaaaaaaaa man Jack is RAW there is a reason he has 800+ wins cuz he can motivate cats in to playin up they postentao;l and toerborge suxed as his record proved

aUGEEEEEEEY should have been an all star

I didn't think Torborg did anything great here, but you have to factor in that he had Beckett go down, Redman go down, and NO Dontrelle Willis in the pitching staff.

I've always liked McKeon and I agree his use of the running game is much more reasonable. I also like his attitude of getting players to put up or shutup. This team is old enough not to be coddled. He deserves credit, screw WQAM.

damn, imagine if we had Trader Jack at beginning of year...

Imagine if we had Jack from the start of last year!
