July 13, 200323 yr Another bat would be nice, but not as necessary as the relief pitcher was. Our line-up is fine - we have incredible lead-off hitters, Pudge is great, Lowell is third in homeruns, and Cabs is developing nicely. Our bench is pretty well-stocked as well. So what if we were in an offensive slump tonight? Every team has their bad games. I think our offensive performances against Atlanta support my point.
July 13, 200323 yr why not? It would be a great PR move, and an upgrade at 1b. neither an upgrade or downgrade a same-grade.. lol but its true the only thing that you can blatantly say that d.lee has over conine is defense and age. that is the only thing we can agree on, although i think d.lee is much better
July 13, 200323 yr i rather have Lee than Conine The huge positive about bringing Mr.Marlin back is that it's a HUGE PR move.
July 13, 200323 yr we dont need him... we can get a better 1B for Lee than for Conine and Conine will retire in about 3 years
July 13, 200323 yr we dont need him... we can get a better 1B for Lee than for Conine and Conine will retire in about 3 years Actually I've heard that Conine will retire next year...
July 13, 200323 yr Actually I've heard that Conine will retire next year... Really? Do you have a link to an article or anything?
July 13, 200323 yr what if hte marlins get conine to play left field? does that change your thinking any?
July 13, 200323 yr what if hte marlins get conine to play left field? does that change your thinking any? I don't think anyone wants to demote Cabs right now... But anything is possible! That's an interesting point, though. I haven't seen anyone mention it in the multitudes of discussions that have been had on this topic.
July 13, 200323 yr while cabrera is doing a decent job....conine would provide a stable bat in left field. if this team truly wants to make a run the send miguel down to AAA for more seasoning and bring in a veteran bat for left.
July 13, 200323 yr what if hte marlins get conine to play left field? Conine in LF for what ? waste $$ that we can use on someone else ?
July 13, 200323 yr Also, if Conine goes to left, who do you trade for Conine? We've already sent three prospects to Texas...
July 13, 200323 yr Also, if Conine goes to left, who do you trade for Conine? We've already sent three prospects to Texas... we can send 2 packs of gum and 1 prospect and $$ to waste for nothin
July 13, 200323 yr I would be more comfortable if we traded Lee for Conine and another player - like Lightenberg, or Jason Johnson, someone. Fact is, we wont be keeping Lee because we have, pardon my pun, bigger fish in Lowell and AJ to keep around. Besides, if we make the playoffs, guys like Pudge and Urbina are going to have a hand in that and should be kept around too. Well, at least Urbina, Pudge, as great as he is, is a luxury. We could still deal for Juan Gon, I think we have enough to make an offer and his value may be way down because of the amount of money he makes and I believe he can dictate to what team he can be traded to. I think he and Pudge are working on getting him to come here...
July 13, 200323 yr Aubrey Huff! Hes lefty, good, a cane, and a DRay! I mean what else do you need to think that we might land him. The DRays definately are not in a playoff hunt.
July 13, 200323 yr Aubrey Huff! Hes lefty, good, a cane, and a DRay! I mean what else do you need to think that we might land him. The DRays definately are not in a playoff hunt. Hes their future and he wont be traded...We defintely need a bat and Conine is not the answer, sorry. Our offense has been pretty much pathetic since we scored 20 runs.
July 13, 200323 yr Yea Beinfestis trying to get a bat wth Power, to drive in some runs. Lets see what Happens in the trade deadlne.
July 13, 200323 yr I wonder if Dmitri Young is available. ...or maybe Frank Catallanatto now that the Jays are falling out of the race.
