February 7, 200521 yr It's hard to think of Alfonseca as a newcomer. I kind of think of him as a relative that's been away at college, in this case the University of Mazzone. I voted for Riedling because I look at his numbers before his dad died and he was lights out. It was a tough choice. I would have voted for Mecir but he's much more a situational pitcher and I would love to see Bentz have a stellar year just because you have to root for a guy who has overcome so much. Going to be an interesting spring training.
February 7, 200521 yr Although at the end of the year, this guy may not have the best ERA because various roles he's expected to play, Reidling's ableness out of the bullpen or starting rotation is invaluable to this team.
February 7, 200521 yr yeah the guy was a bullpen workhorse in Cincy for a while. Really like that pickup.
February 7, 200521 yr The bridge pitchers are what can make or break us IMO. That seems to be Todd Jones and Jim Mecir. I voted for Todd Jones. I think we'll see his control + our defense be magic in inning # 7.

If they adjust well to their middle relief roles, Jones and Mecir could be good stoppers and very valuable to not only maintaining leads but keeping us getting too far behind.
February 7, 200521 yr My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father prepair to die 679219[/snapback] Anyways I said AA if his back holds up
February 7, 200521 yr Alfonseca, but Perisho/Mecir will be crucial because of the lefty power in the division...
February 7, 200521 yr Riedling, because he's always wanted to play here, and he's the youngest of the four.
