ESPNEWS:Shaq NOT out for season

Featured Replies

-ESPNEWS and Miami Herald reporting...

:mad :confused

Torn ligament in his knee says ESPNEWS.

How is he out for the season with a sprained knee?

It says there won't be an MRI for awhile on ESPN. For something so big, you'd think ESPN.com would have something up, but there's nothing major. Just says he's heading to Miami for an MRI.

Last I heard, the tests came back negative and it was gonna be a game time decision before their next game.... Is this true ??

There's no link.

ESPNEWS is reporting and they are getting the news from the Miami Herald.

ESPN News is repeating what's been said from the Miami Herald.

Team doctor has 're-evaluated' Shaq and says that he has a torn ligament, and he will miss the rest of the season. However, Shaq has yet to have an MRI and is on his way to Miami so one can be conducted. "New information is cycling in".

Shaquille O'Neal is reportedly out for the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ligament in his left knee during a game against the Chicago Bulls Tuesday night.

ESPN News, citing a Miami Herald report, made the announcement.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Associated Press reported that O'Neal would sit for Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers, then return to Miami with the team, where he would undergo an MRI on Thursday.

O'Neal left the game against Chicago on Tuesday night after landing awkwardly early in the first quarter. He fell onto Bulls forward Othella Harrington, after going up for an alley-oop pass from Dwyane Wade, and stayed on the floor for several minutes - holding his knee.

He was then helped off the floor and into the locker room.

O'Neal played only two minutes against Chicago and didn't score. O'Neal, who missed a game in December due to a calf injury, is averaging 22.7 points and 10.4 rebounds in his first season with the Heat.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Thank you for giving more details Juanky.

But wow that sucks.

I just saw it on ESPNEWS. The official word is that he's out for tonight's game. They stated that some reports said he may be out for the season, but at the moment, the official word is a sprained knee and he's out for tonight's game...

Nothing confirming that he's out for the year.

Had that feeling.. sorry guys. I saw it happen 3 times in Iowa football.. it started out as a sprain then went to a torn ACL.
