Does Conine come back next year?

Featured Replies

I think it depends on his production this year and the team's production if he'd want to continue playing-- that being said if he wants to continue playing I'd hope the Marlins would give him a 1 year deal.

I think he is going to put up typical Conine numbers and he's going to decide to go for another year.

I don't know...I'm all for giving Willingham a shot in the OF--then we'd have a very young and athletic bunch...

Next year, that is.

Well I think it depens on Hermida if he is back or not. If Hermida continues to progress I think the Marlins may give Niner an option to hang around and bea bench player.

Probably also depends how far the Marlins go.

If Jeff recovers and the Marlins do well he may WANT to come back but with so many up and coming ballplayers in the organization pounding on the door to get their shot at the bigs, he may not be given that option by the front office.

My personal guess is that Jeff winds up in the radio booth in 2006 and Leiter in the tv booth in 2007.

it all depends if he stays healthy and produces for the team. if he has a good year, then well see him next year. well have to see. if he doesnt stay, theres other players that can take his place.

i'd have to say this is his last year....but if he does decide to play 1 more year it wont be with the Fish...we have to many young guys coming up....

If he's willing to come back as a utility guy off the bench at a significantly reduced price, I'd take him for another year.

Otherwise, put him into the front office somewhere.

I think it's his last year and he'll be back in some form with the Marlins in 2006, but not as a player.

I don't see him as a starter next year (might not even be one this year), so if he wants to come back as a bench player, I'd love to have him there. I don't think he's the type of player that will accept a bench role, though.
