July 18, 200321 yr from ESPN RHP Jeff Allison agreed to contract terms with the Marlins on July 18 and will turn pro rather than attend the University of Arizona. Allison, the 16th player taken in the draft, went 8-0 and didn't allow an earned run in 63 1/3 innings this season as a high school senior in Peabody, Mass. He went 24-3 in his high school career with 378 strikeouts walks in 199 1/3 innings.
July 18, 200321 yr Author LCastillo, Last year pick sign for 2 million as a HS kid and now he's one of the top prospect in low single A *side note RHP Logan Kensing (2 Round pick) this year pick pitched great two day ago, along with LHP David Marchbanks( 7 round pick) took over him after the 7IN and also pitched great. Also alot you guys are always asking me the next hot name in the farm. Well here's one 3B/1B Pablo Sosa the kid after destroying the Gulf Coast League by starting off hitting .350 since coming from the Marlins Dominican academy over the summer. He later cooled to leave the GCL hitting .296 going to Jamestown Jammer as is now hitting .276 but the guy tearing up the New York Penn League is 1B Ryan Bear .317 with 13 RBI's. I guess with Menkle in Single A, Stokes in Double A and this kid you wonder now why the Marlins feel very comfortable with the future of the 1B by letting A Gonzalez go.

July 18, 200321 yr going by pure "Stuff" Beckett was not rushed but i will always think that he could have used more innings in the minors, there is a huge difference between 120ip and 200ip. he is still only 23 and a strong 2nd half could be a great future
July 18, 200321 yr He's got a great future anyway. Look at his ratio of K's per IP in this season, and for his career for that matter. He has a solid amount of more K's than IP. That basically tells you that when he puts together a healthy season he will dominate.
July 18, 200321 yr Josh just needs to learn how to be a lil more mellow, his head got to him when he got to the bigs and then the injuries came. Look at Dontrelle, he spent the same amount of time in the minors if not less and he just tore s*** up in the minors and he is tearing s*** up in the Show.
