Harris, and here's why: We're talking about two people that are making the minimum; wouldn't you rather have the more proven of the two, especially when you're talking about pinch hitter option #3 (Conine/Encarnacion will be #1 and Easley will be #2). The fact that Lenny also only needs 7 pinch-hits for 200 also factors into the sentimental part of this decision, as does the fact that he's a left-hander. It's kind of like choosing between algae and plankton though, neither really excite the hell out of me...

Its Dillon's time, lets see what he can do.if he fails bring up another youngster but Lenny has been done for a while now he himself has to let go..i know people have a soft spot for him but he is not the guy we want coming of the bench...yea he got 2 key hits last year but that was about it...Give him a coaching job in the minors or something

The only thing Lenny has proved the past few years is that he's not good. The last two years he's hit .212 pinch-hitting. That's what he does. That's the whole reason he's been given a roster spot for the past 10 years, because he can't do anything else! Unless you consider his take two steps and dive catches in leftfield a display of good defense. Yet he has failed in that role. Given every opportunity by Jack McKeon, no matter how much the Marlins needed a hit, no matter how well someone else on the bench had been hitting, no matter what, Jack gave him all the chances in the world. And he's failed. There comes a point in every job where experience stops covering up for incompetence. Any ballplayer might be better than Lenny Harris now. Heck, call up Jamar Walton, Jai Miller or any of these damn football players we've drafted. Atleast they give you some speed.

I heard the Rockies might be looking for some scouts. Maybe he could get a job with Colorado.

Because of his experience and because he CAN hit off the bench

he got some key hits for us, why not let him finish the year and then let the young guys come?

Experience, sure.

He could hit coming of the bench. He can't any more. Hasn't for two years. Maybe the hope that he would re-gain that skill kept him on the bench last year. The Marlins aren't UNICEF, this isn't your high school team, this isn't Senior Day, this is the major leagues. Lenny had his chance. Jack McKeon gave him more than enough chances. Now it's time to cut the dead weight and bring on players who can help the team win.
