THEEEEEE METS WIN!!!!!

3 in a row? And Brandon Backe pitches tomorrow? I smell a sweep.

BTW, Jose Reyes looked utterly hopeless his first 4 at bats but really came through in the 11th. That pen looked half-way decent as well.

mets got lucky.

bastards.

backe will get the win tomorrow.

That game was tough to watch especially when Bidge went down. Word is that X-rays were negative but hes likely to miss a few games. Which Sucks cause hes the only astro hitting the ball with any consistency.

Savor the flavor because come Friday night, Marlins are gonna wipe the floor with the Mets

I should hope you beat Aaron Heilman, especially when Josh Beckett is starting. Just like we should win Saturday when Pedro takes on the human walk machine. Glavine vs. Burnett Sunday will be a good match-up.

Mets went 2-1 against some team from Florida, just in case you missed it.

Congrats.

Don't expect much down here though :thumbup

Yeah, your not going too far if your relying on Ramon Castro late in the game.

You also aren't going too far if you're allowing Ramon Castro to beat you late in the game.

or handing the game for the umps to take over.

I think that if you leave the game in hands of umpires, then you have to suffer the consequences of their decisions.

Was I upset when the Mets got screwed because the Check Merriweather squeezed Glavine to the point batters were surprised with the calls? Or when he dis-allowed a double switch after he had alredy signaled it to the offical scorer? Yes, but some blame goes on the team for allowing calls like that to affect the outcome of the game. The Marlins played very sloppy baseball this weekend, and allowed it to be close enough for bogus calls to affect the game.

And that's why we lost yesteday ... that and Tom Glavine is a big giant vagina.

Look, the Mets offense has been absolutely horrid so far, in order to score runs we going to need help from the opposition. When you're firstbaseman is dropping catchable balls and throwing them 3 feet over the pitcher's head at first, that is sloppy baseball. When you make Aaron Heilman look like Pedro Martinez, that is sloppy baseball. When you allow Ramon Castro to drive in the game winning run, that is sloppy baseball.

16-4, new team record with 7 homers in a game. Every starting position player homered save Matsui, Floyd, and Beltran. Reyes and Diaz hit 2 each.

I'm sorry but playing baseball in that shoe box of a park is ridiculous. A soft popup to the outfield is a 3-run homer. Padilla got the crap kicked out of him though, lol.

748766[/snapback]

that's so true

delgado in there is gonna be a massacre

At least 2 of those homers are pop-outs anywhere else. Piazza hit an absolute bomb though, 3rd longest homer at that stadium.

Haven't you learned anything about the Mets being a Mets fan for all these years? Sooner or later, the implosion will happen. Simmer down and talk to us in August.

Haven't you heard? This is the New Mets!

I have learned one thing in the past year or so though, Al Leiter blows ass. It's nice to be on the other end of the walk parade.

We're on the good side of .500 for the 2nd time this season. Glavine throws a gem in between raindrops and Cornelius sends an Esteban Loaiza offering into the next state.

Good win for the Mets. Those 1 or 2 run lead games are sweet

ALmost unfair today. The 4th and 5th innings were like watching a little league team play. Mets just scorched the Nats pen. Break out the brooms!
