First game in DC tonight AND IT'S NOT ON TV!?!?!?

Featured Replies

Tonight is the Nats home opener and since there's no Marlins game tonight, I want to watch the Nats home opener but it seems as though the game is not on TV anywhere and i've got MLB Extra Innings on my DirecTV, I searched my entire Tivo guide, and the game is no where to be found.

Is this game on TV at all?

And if it turns out that it isn't, is this because of the horrible deal with Peter 'Propaganda' Angelos?

I wanted to watch this game.

The Yanks/Red Sox are on ESPN tonght.... I would have thought that the Nats would be on ESPN instead of the Yanks/Sox :confused

I'm so sick of the Yanks/Sox, I refuse to watch another Yanks/Sox game until the postseason.

I agree

3 games in a row on ESPN :thumbdown

I cant believe its not on TV either. I MLB extra innings also, and its not on. ESPN is carrying (makes me wanna puke) the Red Sox/Yankees and Indians/White Sox. You would think the first game in DC in over 30 years would be on TV. Angelos is a communist ass.

I agree.

It's like ESPN is their own personal f***ing network or something. It's ALWAYS Red Sox/Yanks coverage on SportsCenter, too.

NOBODY GIVES A f*** outside of Boston and NY.

Bush is going to be throwing out the first pitch and I was really looking forward to seeing it, ugh.

so so so gay.

how overplayed is that matchup?

jesus christ, i was all too eager to flip the channel last night when i saw 'em at it again. it's not even remotely entertaining anymore.

People, before you start bashing ESPN...The Nats game was supposed to be televised nationally. But apparently nobody bothered to count how many broadcast booths RFK had (2) up until 2 weeks ago. They didn't have enough booths and this forced ESPN to cancel their telecast of the game.

Boog Sciambi was supposed to call the game. He's as disappointed as we all are.

Not true.

I bet this game would have 10 fold the ratings the Nats game would.

Red Sox/Yanks is easily the most overrated story in sports, it's nauseating.

Its no Cubs/WS.

Your a smart enough guy, you don't need to go on now and put words in people's mouths.

There are two press boxes with a multitude of TV and radio booths. Atleast there was. One located behind home late for baseball. Another along the baseline for football and soccer.

RFK stinks as a baseball facility. It's a mob with 25K at soccer matches and at last sunday's exhibition game vs. the Mets. It was a zoo last night with 45K. The concourses are way too small to handle large crowds and not enough room for stadium attendants. There are ushers in a tenth of the sections, if that.

The game was great. Vinny Castilla came one bean ball away from hitting for the cycle (all he needed was a single) The crowd booed the pitcher throughout the inning although they might have been booing Cristian Guzman too. Everyone booed Linda Cropp, the local politician who tried to kill the deal then later cloaked herself in the deal for media attention for her mayoral run. You know the type. I was tailgating before the game (mmm, Johnsonville brats, mmm, couscous, mmm, beer). The parking lot was filled. People were tossing around footballs, frisbees and, of course, baseballs. Playing whiffleball. I've been to three Opening Days before. Two were a minor league team, the other was in Philadelphia this year. Neither compare to yesterday. I can't wait until Saturday.

Good to see players like Livan Hernandez, Brian Schneider and Brad Wilkerson, who had to deal with about 5,000 fans a game and then having to travel to PR half the time, actually have a home and have a sellout crowd cheer them on. i was happy to see that.

Tonight there will be three TV crews and three radio crews.

.....Hmm......

hmm.... Thats what I was thinking. I guess the Sox/Yanks are more important :mischief2 (excuses, excuses excuses) :lol
