June 3, 200521 yr if for some reason the A's wanted to do that then do it i'd imagine billy boy has pipe dreams about willingham, since im sure lowell wouldn't be enough 793350 Have you looked at Oaklands catching prospect situation, they have 3 or 4 guys with more potential than Willingham, not gona happen 793925 Willingham can play several positions....
June 3, 200521 yr Chavez/Zito/Cash (to make up the payroll differences for this year) for Lowell/Enc/Willingham/Stokes/Hutchenson
June 3, 200521 yr Hmm..Anyone wanna see Easley play 3rd if Mikey goes? 793988 If Lowell were to go and we wouldn't receive Chavez, then I would presume Dillon or Cabs would go to 3b..
June 3, 200521 yr Chavez/Zito/Cash (to make up the payroll differences for this year) for Lowell/Enc/Willingham/Stokes/Hutchenson 793985 :thumbdown :thumbdown Chavez, struggling. Zito, struggling. We already have a struggling pitcher in Leiter, no way we would trade this much for two struggling guys who could hopefully "change with the scenery"
June 3, 200521 yr Zito hasn't pitched all that bad this season. Zito Game Log Those two starts have screwed up his ERA. The Oakland defense has been horrible and the A's haven't scored any runs in his starts. With a terrific Marlins defense Zito would have better totals.
June 3, 200521 yr No. Chavez makes more money, and while he is a very good player, he can't hit lefties, just can't.? Now, Lowell can't hit, but if we're going to deal Lowell, it should be for a premium outfield bat to let Miggy play third.? I'll pass. 793882 Chavez hit .305 vs lefties last year, with a .412 OBP, .893 OPS. He can hit lefties just fine. He's simply a better player than Lowell is -- and while he has struggled, he hasn't been as bad as Lowell (.225, 5 HR, 28 RBI is better than Lowells .200, 2 HR and 20 RBI). If Chavez hadn't gotten hurt last season and got a full seasons work under his belt, he would have been on pace to hit 37 HR and 97 RBI (600AB). As good as Lowell is defensively, Chavez is better. He's younger, and is only $2 mil more expensive. Oakland wouldn't do it so the point is moot. 793921 He's at or below .200 against them this year. Remember, if we're going by last year's totals, then we'd be nuts to trade Lowell, we're all about 2005...
June 3, 200521 yr Chavez/Zito/Cash (to make up the payroll differences for this year) for Lowell/Enc/Willingham/Stokes/Hutchenson 793985 why would they want Encarnacion? Hutchinson is hurt. Stokes value is going down the drain. If we trade Lowell, Im hoping either Cabs or Willingham is our 3b

I think he willl probably setlle in at one of the corner spots(3B, 1B, LF, RF) and in the AL he could of course be used as a DH.

Zito, struggling. We already have a struggling pitcher in Leiter, no way we would trade this much for two struggling guys who could hopefully "change with the scenery" 793990 Zito has pitched much better than people think. He'd do well in our stadium. Put Chavez in our lineup and he'll start to hit again. He's probably the second most talented 3B in baseball after ARod. I think he's even more talented than Rolen.

Enc/Lowell give them two solid players in the trade. I forgot Hutchinson was hurt. Include Tank or Vargas (which ever we value the least) instead.

June 3, 200521 yr No thanks. Right now, Lowell is (oddly enough) doing better than Chavez. 793426 oddly enough
June 3, 200521 yr and whats all this talk about enc?... ur saying we dont want him?..... 794280 well he is playing over his head :whistle

I still think it would be a great trade for us even losing Tank or Vargas IF we could get the A's to pay off the salary difference this year. Losing Conine's salary next year offsets the extra pay for Chavez, and Zito will help fill the void when AJ leaves for NY or Boston.
June 3, 200521 yr Well, I guess we can forget about Chavez if him and Beane are telling the truth. Chavez doesn't want to live on the East Coast Chavez amused: Chavez got a kick out of a column in a Chicago-area newspaper, the Daily Herald, suggesting the A's might trade the third baseman because, "(Chavez) wants out of Oakland so bad that he's the one who apparently is fueling the trade rumor to the Sox.'' Chavez laughed and said, "Yeah, that's why I just signed a $66 million contract to stay here last year, so I can leave. Where does this stuff come from? I don't want to go anywhere near the East Coast, and to me Chicago is the East Coast, anything past Texas.'' A's general manager Billy Beane was outraged by the story, saying, "It's total (garbage.)'' Asked if he had plans to deal Chavez, he said, "Zero. Zero.''

June 3, 200521 yr I hate how people come up with stupid fantasy trades, Just beacuse the A's accepted your trade on MVP 05' doesnt mean its gonna work out in real life.
