June 4, 200521 yr Our lineup is stuggling, yes, but what about our pen? We lost a few of those games in Pitt because of our pen blowing leads late in games....in the 11th w/ 0 out we load the bases...any suggestions? :banghead :banghead :banghead
June 4, 200521 yr I FEEL BAD FOR JOSH BECKETT HE PITCHED A GOOD GAME AND THEN PERISHO BLEW IT. I DONT CARE WAT U PPL THINK OF MY TOPIC ALL I KNOW IS PERISHO MAKES ME SICK
June 4, 200521 yr He should have been pitching before Nate. Just because we have "2 closers" right now doesn't mean we can't use ONE of them!
June 4, 200521 yr I don't care when he pitches To lose an 11 inning game where your two best relievers don't even warm up is horrendous pen management
June 4, 200521 yr The pen giving up 1 run in 3 innings isn't that bad. The offense scoring only 2 runs in 11 innings, on the other hand, is terrible. Danny Graves might be an improvement to some of the guys we have in our pen, but he's sure as hell not going to fix our biggest problems.
June 4, 200521 yr You all don't understand! You're supposed to use up all your WORST pitchers in the pen first in extra innings! Didn't you read the rulebook? McKeon will NEVER USE MOTA OR JONES until everyone else has been used up. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER. GAYNESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead
June 4, 200521 yr Don't forget about Bump. A walk and he BLEW the possible DP. 1 RUN ON NO HITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :censored :chair :fyou :no :tissue
June 4, 200521 yr I've never understood the thought process of not using your best pitchers as soon as possible in a tie game in extra innings.
June 4, 200521 yr Look, I understand going to Nate. You bring in the long guy to see if he can chew up innings. However, when he's out in a tough situation, what the deal? Perisho, by tradition, is the logical next pick for McKeon. Even though lefties are crushing him, he's the lefty "specialist". So ok, Jack, you played by the book until there. But where the hell is the Fireman when the fire sits 90 feet away with no outs?!?
June 4, 200521 yr I would so love to have a Nate Bump Bobble Head Doll at this very moment so I would be able burn it and then go into my backyard and smash him with my baseball bat into a million pieces. GAH Im still friggin pissed. LMAO @ you people that always want to be positive. The only positive thing today was Beckett's outing :mad
June 4, 200521 yr Frank Robinson's no fool, he trotted out Chad Cordero at the first opportunity. How come McKeon doesn't get it?
June 4, 200521 yr this was a big beef of mine with JAck last year. How many extra innings game did we lose last year with Benitez sitting on his ass? A ton
June 4, 200521 yr Somebody hang Nate Bumb now! He had the ball in his f*cking hand. Grampa could've made that throw. So could've Bill Gates and maybe even Steven Hawking from his wheelchair, or even a fetus. I'll be at the pub if you need me.

However, when he's out in a tough situation, what the deal? 795175[/snapback] You should use your best pitchers first though, let Jones and Mota take the 9th, 10th, and maybe the 11th, then put in Nate. To lose a ball game and have your best two options still waiting in the pen kills me.
June 4, 200521 yr that was frustrating as hell because Bump had a perfect double play waiting & I was going to give a big sigh of relief & praise him for throwing 2 nice innings. Then he has to go & do that. Can't call it anything but a major choke job. I'm still pulling for him though because he gets ground balls. Just can't throw apparently, lol. Perisho I don't even know where to start....
June 4, 200521 yr Perisho is going to get beatdown by one of the other pitchers one of these days. He comes in usually with a guy on already and walks the lefty he was brought in to face and is then pulled. Usually the next pitcher gets out of the inning or he gives up the first guy's run only... net result is Perisho's ERA stays the same and he is the reason another guy's ERA goes up. It keeps happening. 11 walks in 13 IP :plain
June 4, 200521 yr I guess, but I can see why he went to Nate. I don't entirely disagree. But Dammit what the hell is Mota paid for if he's not getting used in the situations he was brought in for!

Leiter is pitching tomorrow so the pen will be used a lot. I hate it if that's the reason, got to focus on the game at hand
