The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported the Marlins had lowered their sights considerably from the three-way blockbuster that would have landed them Cardinals LF J.D. Drew. The newspaper said if Florida made any pre-deadline moves, it could be to add to its bullpen. The Sun-Sentinel also said the Marlins remained interested in switch-hitter Felix Jose, who hit .377 to win the Mexican League batting title. Jose, 38, is on loan to the Mexican League from the Diamondbacks.

Here is another one...the Yanks are intrested in Vladi Nunez

 

The Star-Ledger reported the Yankees believed the bullpen still needed an upgrade. The newspaper said names that had come up in recent trade discussions included the Marlins' Vladimir Nunez, Milwaukee's Mike DeJean and Cincinnati's Scott Williamson (who was traded to Boston Tuesday night).

I I think tha that the Marlins really need to get rid of Vlad Nunez. I believe the Yankees would be interested in buying hi his contract from Florida. But th they might be reluctant to trade him, because they feel that he might be able t to come up an and perform later on, and help the bullpen.

The only thing the FO hasn't given up on Vlady N is his paycheck. They would take a weekend in a Ramada Inn to dump that salary.

i think most of us have been pretty convinced the marlins weren't going to do much if anything today.

Mave, People get excited about trade Rumors thats why they care and we care about this team and what moves they make

Vladi could still be traded, now its waiver wire time...wouldnt be totally shocking to see him sold outright to the Yankees or you could see a lower level prospect come to the Marlins for Vladi...I would be shocked if he doesnt clear waivers.

Jose has never been on the Blue Jays or Marlins. Youre probably thinking of Junior Felix.
