June 29, 200520 yr McKeon to miss two games: Due to a death in the family, McKeon will not manage the Marlins the remaining two games of the series with the Braves. Late Tuesday night, the 74-year-old learned that his brother-in-law passed away. McKeon will head to New Jersey to attend the funeral, and he will join the team at Shea Stadium on Friday night when they open a weekend series with the Mets. Bench coach Harry Dunlop and pitching coach Mark Wiley will run the team on Wednesday and Thursday for the remaining two games with the Braves. ---FloridaMarlins.com

June 29, 200520 yr My condolences to Jack and his family. But, as a fan, I wonder if this family time-out will give Jack a chance to re-consider his managing "strategies." At first my reaction was "Good, we'll see some different management for two games." But, I think we are going to see McKeon clones. For instance, if Willingham should Start and do very well, and we win, many fans will say "See, Jack was wrong and should be replaced.' Dunlop's dedication to Jack is such that he won't let that happen. So now I expect "same old, same old" mismanagement.
