LoDuca is awesome, glad we have him. He plays the game hard, look what he did to stretch out the hit to a double and the little things he does like catch all 13 innings and help out our pitching staff. Great Player.

Just enjoy the win, people. Cabrera actually ran!

If you saw in in slow motion, he was smiling while running. It was hilarious.

No hometown player meant as much in the California/Carolina League all-star game since Kinston?s Billy Munoz hit a homer to give the CL the walk-off win in 2000.

That all changed Tuesday night in Frederick, but without the theatrics of five years ago in Kinston.

First, Frederick outfielder Nick Markakis won the home run-hitting contest--narrowly defeating High Desert?s Billy Butler, 5-4--and then hit two more homers for real in an 8-0 blasting of the Californians.

Markakis, the Orioles? first-round pick in 2003 out of Young Harris (Ga.) Junior College, went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, and a better script could not have been written for Keys? fans.

?It?s great to do this at home in front of our fans,? Markakis said. ?With all the great hitters--great players--here, it?s definitely something I never expected. Let?s hope this translates into a great run in the second half.?

2-6 isn't anything to brag about.

Thats why Lo Duca starts.

And Willy rides pine.

Clutch performers dont get called out looking for walks.

wow you got me there

cant wait for that 2nd half slump :thumbup

It's true Willy needs to get the bat off his shoulder. That's twice now he watched strike 3 go by in a critical situation.

He's being a bit tentative. Give him a few starts and his bat will come around.

Does anybody remember what Cabrera went through when he first came up?

yea, he was pretty blah his first 50 or so at bats

and while Willy needs to swing the bat, thats what happens when he rides the pine

Lo Duca HAS to get a day off tommorow, so I am guessing we'll see Treanor tommorow night. Would be nice to give the start to Willy, but he cant be trusted behind the plate.

Am I missing something here? What is the big deal with this willy guy? Why are like 10 people obsessed with a minor leaguer?
