I am just saying, there is nothing original or creative about "Vargy". This is what I am talking about, these lame tags people put on players just to give them a nickname is ruining one of the truly unique parts of the games legacy. That'd be like back in the day calling Walter Johnson "Walty" or Ted Williams "Teddy".

and V-unit is a good one?

How about V-Unit...like a play on words of 50 Cent's G-Unit. And the defense behind him can be the V-Unit Soldiers. Of course, then he would have to make his plate appearence music "In Da Club"(which would actually be awesome). Yes, I am going with V-you-NIT

ugh. please do not make any references to the garbage unit and the marlins. bastardized mainstream pophop crap.

i think vargas shall just be referenced to as "Mr Cool" b/c thats how he keeps it out there. no stressin no panicking. cool as the other side of the pillow.

hmmm..pillow..

Shhh Admin your harshing my mellow. There is a difference in just "Teddy" and "Teddy Ballgame"...if you would of said just "Teddy" back then people probably would of brought to mind former president Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt. I've never seen the Crow that is why I am not so down with that. His hairdo reminds me of Vinny Barbarino off of Welcome Back Kotter. Or Fez off of That 70's Show.

Actually one of his nicknames was "Teddy Ballgame"

As well as the "Splendid Splinter"

The last person to receive a bird nickname was matt perisho at the beginning of the 2004 season. That worked out really well...
