Even though it looks like Ft. Lauderdale may be spared a direct hit with Katrina, per the landfall happening alongside the Miami/Dade-Broward line, when was the last time Lauderdale was directly hit?

Neighbor just lost an unlovely tree.

-Man killed in parking lot of Stranahan High School when tree fell on his car

-Pedestrian killed in Planation when tree fell on him

-NBC 6 weatehr man seeing possible rotations (tornadoes?) on Doppler radar; I did not catch where

Cable died. Power's still going strong.

My cable has been leaving at times, but it's back now. The lights just keep flickering on and off. Internet died for a couple of minutes too. :confused

Okay, so we have a door to the attic in the ceiling in the garage, and it blew open. So now our garage is all windy with wind coming from the attic, its sorta freaky. We still have cable, which is shocking. Jeanne and Frances both stole our cable.

 

210,000 customers in Broward with no power, I'm not one of them and don't plan to be.

Wow, that really sucks for them. They spend so much money to track the storm and have people out in the field with high tech equipment. Now they have no point in being out there. They also have all these experts and reporters working so they can compete with the other networks. Now all that effort leads to nothing because they lost power. That really sucks.
