Hurricane Katrina

For a Cat 1/Tropical Storm this close, you are better off not putting the shutters up. You are more likely to be injured during installation than from storm damage if you have panels.

If you have accordians or roll-away shutters, go ahead and close them.

Ft/Hly Airport closes at 7.

Who cares about Texas flooding? I mean god. Don't you get it, Miami is home of the VMAs and no one wants to think about P Diddy trying to navigate through flooded roadways, or imagine the horror of Shakira in a white sheer dress getting caught in the rain and get all wet. Get with the program.

Is it anyone's fault that Houston didn't have the infrastructure to take control of the flood water from a Tropical Storm?

The hurricanes last year didn't hit us (except Francis sorta got us in North Broward)

Pressure down to 990 MB according to NBC 6 and the NHC.

Winds are probably near 70 mph now.

Right now, watching TWC from Chicago, it looks like Lauderdale is going to take a direct hit. The eye seems to be on track to go alongside the northern side of I-595. Does anyone know if Broward has ordered the Nurmi Isles evacuated? My family used to have a home there.

Meaning landfall is less than 7 hours from now at this rate.

Looks like it'll be near Alachua County around Monday. Stay safe all you people in the target range in south fla.

Repost from the Photoshop thread...

Almost a cane at 3 PM.

70 MPH sustained, Miami radar indicated this.
