NBC 6 states that FAU will be closed Thursday and Friday, however, at FAU's website (still not updated from yesterday) and then I called the #, they say classes after 4 pm still and that was the 6 AM update too, should I just call the school directly?

Yea.. My school is cancelled for Thurs and Fri.. My college is more north than yours so I have a feeling its going to be closed

This thing is moving directly west now, right towards Broward. I don't think we've had a direct hit in the past 15 years.

well my dad just called the nbc 6 hotline and he asked about FAU... they said that they were wrong, after checking the FAU site, and after we hung up with them, the scroll on the bottom was changed to 4 pm on Thursday

Good morning everyone,

I am sick, but will relieve Beinfest4Prez of his watch. We hope you guys are ready for this. Hopefully Lee County closes schools tomorrow so I don't have to miss another day/go to school sick another day.

So will this biznatch be a trop storm or hurricane when it hits according to your expert prediction?

I want to say within 65-72 mph at landfall.

And I am gonna raise ya a cookie and go 78-85 MPH. With the potential to become a cat 2 still.

What about Tally? If it moves out into the gulf, will it strengthen??

keep an eye as it will likely get stronger in the gulf

If this is anything like Irene, power will be out for days, and flooding is a good possibility...But remember, Irene didn't even directly hit Broward/Miami, and this storm is moving very slowly.

Oh great, its slowing down. :plain

So if it moves directly west, does that give Hollywood the direct hit?

Nope. We talked about that last year, and the teachers said it had to be like a week to even start thinking about making the days up. And plus, our administrators said Seniors dont have to make them up, so ha.

Any news on whether UM cancelled classes? I'm just a little concerned for my brother, who's just starting his freshman year there.

What should North Dade expect?>

No house around me is bording up their windows, so im following suit(Miami Lakes)

Is this a good idea?

Nevermind, just saw the radar, looks like Coral Gables is just going to get a lot of rain from outer bands. And the Herald said that UM will remain open. Now I'm more concerned for my grandparents, who live in Sunrise and West Davie.
