Start Moehler tomorrow vs. the Cubs... Beckett looked terrible his last start and could maybe use an extra day... We already have this series won. Why not give him an extra days rest?

 

Push him back a day, so that Beckett and Burnett get an extra days rest.

 

 

That means we have Beckett, Burnett and Vargas going in the StL series instead of Burnett, Valdez and Vargas. Beckett on an extra days rest vs. Carpenter sounds pretty good. I'd like our chances a lot more.

the StL matchups we'd have sound a lot better than what they would be if Beckett goes tomorrow, but what about keeping the routine? and staying 'on a schedule'? dunno, it's just what Josh kept on saying in Spring Training, to stay consistent...don't know how much skipping a day does

i really dont know it has good logic behind it but it is disrupting his routine and every game counts. Having beckett pitch vs zambrano is probably better than having him pitch vs a future cy young guy. i say just pitch josh tommorow

Have to go for a sweep. Can't concede tomorrow's game just to give Beckett an extra day.

 

Only way this makes sense for the team is if we throw Burnett on short rest tomorrow, and I don't think that's going to happen. Also, remember that the weekend series against the Mets is Beckett, Burnett, Willis...I don't think we want to mess with that when we have a huge divisional showdown.

 

However, I find this suggestion intriguing.

It's better to keep Beckett on his schedule. Let's go for the sweep. At this point in the season we should be looking to skip the 5th guy as often as possible.

I'd rather not have the Human Hit Machine start at all. Keep Beckett where he is and Moehler out of the rotation.

The Cubs offense right now is a solution for any pitcher that is struggling, or even just had a bad start like in the case of Beckett.

 

Let Josh go out and do his thing tomorrow, and if he is bad again, reevaluate. The Marlins need every game, and starting Moehler over Beckett tomorrow isn't a viable option IMO.

Now all of a sudden, we have Burnett, Valdez and Vargas going against St. Louis.. with our best (Burnett) going up against Chris Carpenter.

 

Would have looked a lot nicer with Beckett, Burnett and Vargas going against the best team in the NL.... but then again, I'm not the manager.

 

 

We're gonna have to scratch out some wins vs. the Cards.
