September 2, 200520 yr good website. the american automakers are so woefully behind its hilarious. the general motors trucks are really a laugh riot. thats good stuff when reading how they are going to do it with them. guess toyota will have to make a hybrid truck to teach them how to do it.

September 2, 200520 yr the big problem is the cars cost like alot more.. look the accord, 30,000 for the hybrid and then about 18,000 for the regular. You are paying 12,000 more dollars for that hybrid Now if you happen to get 10 miles per gallon out of the gas for the hybrid and put on 12,000 miles a year. That means you get 1,200 extra miles out of the gas. Basically to pay the difference even at 3 bucks gallon you are talking about at 8 years of owning the car. How many folks own their car 8 years just to get a return upon that for a profit? That is a bad investment over all really. Check it out and do the math yourself. There was a big notice on this in some articles a little while back. You should be able to google it all. In a few years they will become worthwhile I hope.

September 3, 200520 yr The Ford Escape Hybrid looks really good..until I see the price tag. The gas savings from my current Honda CR-V doesn't justify switching to the hybrid. I get 21-23 MPG though, so I am not complaining. I was supposed to take it in for a warranty repair yesterday and while at the dealer I looked around the VW, Honda, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz sections of the dealer and saw some VW cars that get less or equal to what I get with the CR-V EX 4WD Auto.

We either think of silly caricature sort of vehicles like the Mini or ugly, cheap, unreliable POSs like Kias, Hyundais, etc. There are plenty of very good to great small cars on the market in other countries that, given the demand, could be sold here.

You are paying 12,000 more dollars for that hybrid No. If you want to spend $18K on an Accord (assuming you're buying it new), you get a 4-cylinder motor, standard transmission, and a TWO speaker (yes, I said two) sound system. Here's a list of it's standard features The Hybrid Accord basically a loaded V6 model with an electric motor added to provide extra grunt and fuel economy. Amenities you get with a Hybrid Accord are leather seats, CD changer, SIX speaker sound, and much more listed here. In case you're wondering, a loaded non-hybrid V6 Accord is around $27K. So you really only have to pay an extra $2-3K to get the hybrid powertrain.
