  1. This team needs to win 160 games and the World Series each of the next five seasons to redeem themselves. Winning the World Series alone won't be enough. Any championship with more than 2 regular season losses attached to it will be considered a failure.
  2. I've defended previous payroll dumps made by this team (especially the Hanley trade). Now I just give up. This is pathetic.
  3. That thing is horrid. On top of the fact that it is ridiculously stupid, they have a marlin doing flips on top. Since when do marlins do flips? Ugly uniforms, ugly HR feature and stupid little mascot. It's very vexing, the whole situation. Why does Loria insist on these stupid gimmicks? I guarantee Pujols took one good look at that HR feature, coupled with the uniforms, and ran to the Angels. Furthermore, why doesn't anyone mention that the outfield wall is freaking neon-green?! Oh, stop whining. Go root for a team with a more generic mascot and stadium if it bothers you that much.
  4. Gary Sheffield & Miguel Cabrera >>>>>>>>>> Stanton Ban this fool. Now.
  5. If he could be had for minimum, I certainly wouldn't be against it.
  6. No teal monster? Looks like a normal transparent fence. Otherwise, I can't wait til she opens.
  7. Part of the Nationals problem is that with their pitching staff being so inconsistent, they don't really even believe that they can hold leads. They need a major confidence boost, like the Rays got a few years ago. I think the thing for the Nationals to do is move to a new city, change their name, get new uniforms, and then a new stadium. sarcasm?
  8. There's no such thing as an Infiniti Q57...I think you mean QX56 (ugly hunk of metal IMO). I've also seen him drive an M45 on rims. edit: Last season, I've seen Hermida in a black Range Rover, Hanley in a white CLS Mercedes, Lindstrom in a gray BMW 550i, Uggla in a black Escalade, Amezaga in a black Escalade, Fredi in a BMW X5, Cody in a black Mercedes C Class, and that's all I can think of right now...
  9. why isn't chuck carr on the list?
  10. LOL at these "all-time" rosters. That can done with any club in the Majors. Besides, I think a healthy JJ, Anibal, Mitre plus Olsen and Hendrickson is stout enough.
  11. I agree. The Marlins will definately be one of the top-five teams in the NL East when the season's over.
  12. I just wanted to chime in and say that this thread's title is misleading. Crude oil was never $2.58 per barrell, especially last year. I know you were actually referring to the price of gasoline, but the ill-informed person may be confused by how you worded it. The price of crude this time last year (as indicated by the chart posted earlier) was around the $50-60 range. I've noticed a lot of discussion regarding the collapse of the dollar, which is playing a major role in crude's record prices. However, let's not forget the surging economic growth in the world's two most populated nations, China and India. Demand for crude from those countries is exploding and they account for about one-third of the world's inhabitants. This presents a challenge to the world's oil supply. The falling dollar is causing many investors to shift their investments into commodities, especially oil, which is why prices are inflated. However, if the Dollar was closer to parity to the Euro, crude prices would still be high relative to where they were six years ago. I'd say if we weren't seeing this spike in inflation, oil would be around $70.
  13. Doubt this will last long. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/mlb_exper...t?urn=mlb,67984
  14. twins arent willing to spend on Santana but spend a lot on a few other guys. To their credit they tried to lock him up, but he declined so he could test free-agency.
