September 6, 200521 yr Wilson to get callup: Now that the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes have been eliminated from playoff contention, shortstop Josh Wilson will be called up on Tuesday. At Albuquerque, Wilson hit .259 with 17 home runs and 82 RBIs. A second-round pick in 1999, Wilson will be with the Major League club for the first time in his career. Wilson will provide middle infield depth, because he can also play second base. The Marlins added backup middle infield help on Friday, when they called up Robert Andino from Double-A Carolina. The Marlins also are considering adding veteran Mike Mordecai, the manager of the club's short-league Jamestown club in the New York-Penn League. Mordecai, a member of the Marlins from 2002-2004, is a few days shy of having 10-years of Major League service time. Jamestown's season ends on Thursday, and the earliest Mordecai would join the Marlins is next Monday (Sept. 12) in Houston Link to Full Article Looks like we'll have plenty of middle infield help the rest of the way out.
September 6, 200521 yr I don't remember ever calling up so many position players... Willy (ya) Hermida Andino Wilson Who else am I missing?
September 6, 200521 yr Bring Mordy back !!! I've been waiting to see his name since last month. Nice to see they're still considering giving him the opporunity to get his 10 years of Major League service... Who knows.. maybe he's got another walk-off dinger in him....
September 6, 200521 yr Mordecai or someone who looked very much like him and had a long ass name on the back of their jersey was fielding groundballs during batting practice Monday
September 6, 200521 yr its becoming more and more possible that Alex could be shut down the rest of the season. its a shame b/c as Fish fans we are extremely spoiled and used to the supreme defense up the middle. hopefully our callups can step up and fill in well
September 6, 200521 yr Maybe Wilson will be playing SS today because Gonzo is hurt and Easley is not the best SS.. Just a thought.
September 6, 200521 yr Knowing Jack, he'd probably go with Easley despite his limitations with the glove, but I'd like to see Wilson finally get a shot.

September 6, 200521 yr He'll be #20 according to the game notes for today. Nice number 932231 Mike Neu? :shifty

September 7, 200521 yr Author Perhaps tomorrow. Easley isn't exactly tearing the cover off the ball right now.
September 7, 200521 yr Perhaps tomorrow. Easley isn't exactly tearing the cover off the ball right now. 933129 Just going on what's been McKeon's tendencies...I think Easley is in there until he fooks up egregiously on defense. That got Mikey back in the lineup with Cabrera, and that sent Conine to the bench even when he was swinging a good stick.
September 7, 200521 yr He'll be #20 according to the game notes for today. Nice number 932231 I saw Wilson walking off the field at the end of the game and yes he was #20. Of course best worn by Miggy in 2003 and also Dutch in 97.
September 7, 200521 yr I was surprised Andino or Wilson didn't go in with Conine and Lowell in as defensive replacements tonight. Even if the Nats tied it, Easley's spot wasn't due up until the 7th or 8th batter.
