They shouldn't punish him for this if he was already punished a couple of years ago. This must have been the "younger player" going through the system that Selig talked about. I remember a bunch of fans were saying it was Miggy, as if they knew anything at all. But, an important question is, if certain steroids can stay in your system for this long, how come more players haven't been suspended? Is it possible that there is unfair treatment going on and some of the better known players aren't getting suspended? Or perhaps most players that used steroids used steroids that get out of the system quicker?

September 8, 200520 yr This is his third time. He used roids in late 2003, and then in early 2004. Both uses were to recover from injuries, according to him. From what I've been hearing, there is no way that he could have tested positive again for something he did over a year ago. It's more likely that he took something, and isn't admitting it.

A lot of the stuff that the guys who were big leaguers that took 'roids had designer steroids that were in the system for a shorter period of time (thereby reducing the side-effects) and, although I'm not sure about this, there has to be a "detox" for 'roids. I mean, if you can get any form of narcotics out of your system with self detox kits, certainly there exists a similar substance for steroids...

Apparently the level of steroids in his system was just over the punishable threshold, and has decreased steadily from his first suspension in '04 to his second to now. If it is the case that he's being punished three times for one offense, that's pretty weak. Gammons article--Insider required
September 8, 200520 yr MLB said something true in their statement. If the players are given a clean slate (as they asked for) when going from minors to majors meaning the punishments are reset -- then it works both ways and they can not look to the fact he's already been punished for this.
