Let's assume Pettitte is going to get the W in Pittsburgh tonight. If so, then would you agree tonight is a must win. Falling 3 behind with 11 to go would seem insurmountable.

 

Given that, tonight is a must win and we need AJ to finally step up and help this team get to the playoffs.

considering we're 'scoreboard watching' i would say everygame is a must win and if you don't then you just hope like hell that the others lose.

We don't need to start threads saying "is this a must win?" F*ck yeah, it's a must win. EVERY GAME FROM HERE ON OUT IS A MUST WIN(unless we clinch the playoffs or unless we are mathematically out.)

The really sad part is, this was a huge momentum game. AJ went out, gave it his all. So did Todd Jones, and the Dragon Slayer (why didn't he pitch the 12th, anyone know?). A win in such a heated game would have been great. Now a loss in the same atmosphere could be tragic.

 

Let's hope this team grows up alot in the next 20 hours because if they keep with the same defeatist mentality I might as well just stop updating the playoff thread.

It's fine to continue hoping. But you really have to ask yourself can this team go 10-1 the rest of the way? Can they go 9-2?

 

If they can't win games with pitching like tonight consistently, then they'll be doing well to go 6-5 the rest of the way.

Maybe it's stupidity, but I'm going to watch or listen to all the remaining games. Always do. I'd like to think I'm doing so for a reason and not out of pure stubborness.
