September 26, 200521 yr Let's say Mike Lowell stays as a Marlin this offseason do you think Miguel goes to the outfield or they bench Lowell? I would personally love to see Miguel at third this guy is a future gold glover at third. He's got the arm and the natural instincts you need to be a third baseman. I mean in the outfield he looks like he runs with weights on his legs, the only thing he has superior to other outfielders is his canon.Mike Lowell better watch out because I think Miguel just stole his starting position. Miguel has more range than Lowell.
September 26, 200521 yr I'd like to see us trade Lowell and keep Miggy at third base. If we can get a good pitcher or outfielder for Lowell, let's pull the trigger.
September 26, 200521 yr Author What about this trade: FLORIDA MARLINS TRADE 3B Mike Lowell CF Juan Pierre TWINS TRADE P Kyle Lohse CF Torrii Hunter Would this trade be good for the franchise and help us improve our chances of contention? I heard many rumors of Torrii Hunter and Kyle Lohse being on the trading block.

September 26, 200521 yr Try to get one of their bullpen arms too...but Hunter is expensive, I think the Yankees would be a better place to trade Pierre, and we could take what they give us and throw it at a team for a LF...I dont care what anyone says, I dont want Willingham as our everyday LF.
September 26, 200521 yr Torii Hunter isn't a great hitter really. Sure, he's got awesome fielding, but hitting isn't as great as it looks.
September 26, 200521 yr Author Hunter does have some pop in his bat and is a leader with an actual arm which will help the Marlins.
September 26, 200521 yr Hunter does have some pop in his bat Yeah, but.. JP does too..and he's a lefty..

September 26, 200521 yr Trade Pierre to the Yankees after they sign The AJ...and get Pavano back in the deal. It'd be one last f*** you to AJ by Marlin Nation. And aint Hunter due to make around $8-10 mil next season? Trade Lowell for pitching prospects, combine with some of our pitching prospects not named Olsen, Vargas, Volstad, or Johnson, and throw them at the Reds for Adam Dunn...stick Aguila in center flanked by Hermida and Dunn, leave Cabs at 3B, hopefully resign Gonzalez and hope he can add pop to his newfound batting average, leadoff with Castillo, bat Hermida 2nd, Dunn 3rd, Cabs 4th, Delgado 5th, Dook 6th, Aguila 7th, Gonzo 8th, watch as we have pop in our lineup 2-8, get back to having a good time, sit back and watch with awe as Castillo, Dunn, Aguila, and Hermida(and occasionally Dook) steal bases so often they get warrants for their arrest, set the rotation as Willis/Beckett/Olsen/Pavano/Vargas, retool the bullpen from a team like the Pirates(Mike Gonzalez and Ryan Voglesong would be attractive and cheap starts), add something to the bench along the lines of John Mabry, and send Pierre a complimentary fruit basket for all the memories he has given us.

September 26, 200521 yr So, there's a market for Mike Lowell now? When did that change? I would trade him for whatever I can get, because Cabrera is more valuable at 3rd than he is LF. That and we save some coin that can be used to fill a hole somewhere else (LF? SP? Bullpen?) I'd really like to bring in Jacque Jones, but I don't know what kind of contract he's going to be getting.

Maybe the part about Dunn was off, but trading Lowell for pitching prospects is very realistic, and then using those prospects to get a LF bat would be a good idea. And Pierre for Pavano...if the Yanks sign Morris, Millwood, or Burnett, that is entirely possible because of the black hole they have in CF. Besides the Dunn part, nothing MVP about that trade.

Dunn f***in sucks.....do you know how quickly you guys would jump all over him with his K's and everything?? Dunn is god awful.....And No thanks to bringin Pavano back....I'll keep Pierre....Why don't we just deal Aguila for Dunn if your so gun ho with gettin Dunn...You seem to have Aguila on a pedestal.
September 26, 200521 yr I dont have Aguila on a pedastal, but I think he is one of the least utilyzed players we have had for quite some time. If we keep Pierre fine, put Aguila in left, if we trade Pierre, put Aguila in center. The kid has talent that never gets to be showcased.
September 26, 200521 yr Willy>Aguila? I dont think so. It seems, at the MLB level, both would hit for about the same average and power, add in Aguilas superior defense and ability to swipe bags, Aguila is far more valueable.

September 26, 200521 yr Willy is an OBP machine....that is the most important thing to a team that already for the most part fields well and needs more offense.
