October 12, 200520 yr O Brother Where Art Thou I might be alone on this but I absolutely loved that movie.
October 12, 200520 yr O Brother Where Art Thou I might be alone on this but I absolutely loved that movie. You are not alone. I loved how it had alot of references to The Odyssey too.
October 12, 200520 yr O Brother Where Art Thou I might be alone on this but I absolutely loved that movie. It's close to a classic. A really, really, really GREAT movie. It's not on the Big Lebowski level, but better than the crap the Coen's put out now.
October 12, 200520 yr O Brother Where Art Thou I might be alone on this but I absolutely loved that movie. Nope. I personally think that movie is amazing.
October 12, 200520 yr O Brother Where Art Thou I might be alone on this but I absolutely loved that movie. Trust me, you're hardly alone. I went with like 7 other people; they all liked it, and at least two of them LOVED it. For me, it was condescending, and only funny on rare occasion. And I also found all that Odyssey stuff to be a distraction. They couldn't just make a slapstick comedy; they had to try and slap this highbrow intellectual veneer on top of it. I'm not saying it couldn't have worked; but for me it just didn't. I like a lot of the Coen brothers' other stuff, though, especially Fargo, Raising Arizona, Lebowski, and Miller's Crossing. I guess this just wasn't my thing.

Fink's not for everyone (especially if you don't know the backstory of the characters it's based on) but Hudsucker Proxy is BRILLIANT! If you dig those other Coen movies, I'd consider renting Hudsucker. I would behoove you to do so.

It's probably their best looking movie, and I love the snappy vibe of the film, but it's a lot shallower than their other films, in terms of characterization and all that jazz. Style far trumps substance in this film, so it's just a little bit below those other ones for me, but still very enjoyable.
October 12, 200520 yr Alexander, they took a pretty good story and made is suck more than I thought possible. It's amazing acheivement how much they effed up a story to be potentially a good movie. Just rented that the other day. What a freaking mess.... If I saw that in the theater, it might be tops on my list.

October 13, 200520 yr Second Sight (with John Larroquette and Bronson Pinchot) Hook (hated it) King Solomon's Mines (mid 80's flick with Sharon Stone) I usually only go to the movies 2 or 3 times a year so I am very selective as to what I watch..anything borderline is a rental now
October 13, 200520 yr Oceans Twelve was horrible. I walked out about 30 minutes into the movie. Also some horror movie I was forced to watch with some little kid.
October 13, 200520 yr A lot of people listed Ocean's 12. I thought it was just okay, but didn't fall into the bad category. For me, it was just too many in-jokes and your standard boring direction by Soderburgh. Can anyone tell me why they found it sooo bad? I'm interested because I came out kind of mad that it didn't live up to its hype nor its potential.
October 14, 200520 yr phone booth was a soild movie...... not boring once, the movie was intese and nice. i liked phone booth mines is....... The Johnson family vaction.............

October 15, 200520 yr Hollywood Homicide starring Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett. It sucked. Plain and simple. That's mine too. I was about to post it and then looked to see if anyone else had. I actually walked out. Only movie I've ever done that for. And I saw Gigli.
