I don't think this is true either - I think Matt Erickson is a minor league free agent, so he can't be traded.

The fact that he is 28-29 and still only has a fastball to me isn't very appealing or exciting.

He's only 24 years old... and I came away impressed with him while watching him at Chicago. He worked very well with Kranitz in Des Moines as well. I'd be ecstatic to get him. He's major league ready and I think he can be a very solid pitcher.

Maybe as a throw in, but not the centerpiece of a Pierre deal.

 

Williams was deemed equal value for LaTroy Hawkisns...that's not saying much.

I don't know if there is a team with more excess young talent in the league with some holes that need to be filled than the Cubs. If we don't get something good out of them, that's our fault or else Pierre just wasn't worth it. I doubt it would happen but Eric Patterson would be nice to get in a deal. he's Corey's brother, a 2B, and has done a great job in the lower levels. Still has a few more steps to go, but he could turn into a heck of a player.

I take the opposite side of that. Proctor has poor control and really needs some help with things like another pitcher to be very legit.
