December 7, 200520 yr This was on ESPN rumor mill: Dec 6 - The Rockies are looking to trade second baseman Aaron Miles to the Marlins or Royals, possibly for a low-level minor-league prospect, The Denver Post reports. Take it for what its worth I guess.
December 7, 200520 yr Rotoworld mentions Rich Aurilia as an option at 2b. I would LOVE that !! He was always one of my favorite Giants. You put him hitting in front of Miguel Cabrera and he will produce... And he's a great guy to have around the clubhouse....

We need a veteran, and so far it's looking like Cabs will be the most seasoned on the field :plain
December 7, 200520 yr Meh, I'd rather just go with Wilson/Andino and keep the lower to mid level prospect. There are still some low price alternatives on the FA market, too, that make more sense than Miles.
December 7, 200520 yr If it's the 2004 Miles who hit .277 away from Coors, yes. If it's the 2005 Miles who hit .200 away from Coors, no.
December 7, 200520 yr It's not like Wilson, Andino or Miles will be the long-term answer at second, so what's the point in making the move. Personally, I'd just rather flip Andino to second and see what he can do there...
December 7, 200520 yr why not sign Tony Graffanino he only made 1.1 million last year offer him a 1 year deal around 1.5-2 million and go from there
December 7, 200520 yr I'd rather just play Andino or sign some pudwhack free agent than trade away a prospect for a 30 year old AAAA player.
December 7, 200520 yr why not sign Tony Graffanino he only made 1.1 million last year offer him a 1 year deal around 1.5-2 million and go from there I was just about to post that. He wants to start, and so far the only interest he is getting is for him to be a utility player.
December 7, 200520 yr 30 year old AAAA player. JOE DILLON hehhee at least he is our 30 years old AAAA player

You put him hitting in front of Miguel Cabrera and he will produce... And he's a great guy to have around the clubhouse.... Aurilia could be a nice fit at 2b. Definitely one of the better options I have seen discussed here. 2005 Highlights: Aurilia was the Reds' starting shortstop before straining his left hamstring and going on the disabled list on May 11. Upon his return more than two weeks later, he took on more of a utility role and posted the club's best average with runners in scoring position (.343). By the end of the season, he was getting the majority of the starts at second base. He hit .315 in 58 games after the All-Star break.
