March 1, 200620 yr Chris Simms - QB - Buccaneers Chris Simms' one-year contract is worth $2.1 million. Simms probably got an extra $100,000 for giving up the right to sign an offer sheet with another team. He wasn't going anywhere in 2006 either way. Mar. 1 - 6:16 pm et Source: Tampa Tribune Yep, I watched the press conference this afternoon. He was also named the definite starter so Griese is almost certainly on his way out, like expected. Yes, and that is a VERY good thing. BG did his job, but he has nowhere near the upside Simms does.

Good signing and good move on the Bucs part.
March 2, 200620 yr Cutting Milloy and Campbell were pretty good moves for Buffalo, because Milloy doesn't fit the cover 2 with his diminished range at safety while Campbell doesn't bring all that much to the table and could easily be replaced by a 3rd round pick and/or a healthy Kevin Everett. I'd say Vernon Davis as well, but the Bills have too many other needs to take a luxury pick like Davis at #8. With Milloy gone, I'd love to see them take Huff and plug him in at safety. I could have lived without releasing Adams, because he's still a good player, but apparently Jauron wants quick, mobile DTs in his new scheme. Adams is anything but quick and mobile, but for someone looking for a gap-clogging DT, he's a good fit. Eric Moulds will probably be cut tomorrow as well, and a contender-like team in need of a WR (like the Eagles) would do well to pick him up on a short contract. Moulds still has a few good years left in him.
March 2, 200620 yr I wonder what the jets will do with pennington. They are trying to restructure his deal, so we will see if indeed that happens or the cut him.
March 2, 200620 yr Dolphins release backup TE Lorenzo Diamond Also, expect Kevin Carter to be cut if he does not want to restructure his contract. With the Dolphins still needing to make some moves to get under the cap, the team has approached defensive end Kevin Carter about a potential contract restructure. If Carter's contract is not restructured, he is a potential candidate to be released.
March 2, 200620 yr Slow day so far. When do you guys see it picking up as far as cuts go? Well, they extended the deadline from 4pm until 10pm, I'd think it would pick up a bit more late this evening.

March 2, 200620 yr Hmm...looks like Jordan Carstens(or possibly Kindal Moorehead) will take over the #2 DT spot. Smart was nothing more than a kick returner, a WR or RB draftee will likely fill that void...Steven Davis, sad to see him go. My guess is, a highly rated RB taken in the one of the first 3 rounds this year, to do a dual attack with Eric Shelton...Fosters gone next year or traded this year. I wouldn't be suprised to see Carolina maybe take a run at Kerry Collins if he indeed does get released and if he doesnt want too much moolah.
March 2, 200620 yr Kevin Mawae got cut, whoa. That sucks I liked him alot. On the bright side the jets are now under the cap. The restructured Ellis and Coles, and now just awaiting Pennington's decision of taking a pay cut. Also there is speculation that John Abraham will get traded to Denver, stay tuned...
March 2, 200620 yr Here we go. Chiefs release LB Shawn Barber, CB Dexter McCleon, CB Eric Warfield Falcons cut DE Brady Smith Seahawks cut CB Andre Dyson
