March 17, 200620 yr She wouldn't be saying this if Condi wasn't going to run... WASHINGTON (AP) -- Laura Bush, wife of President Bush, said Tuesday the United States is ready to have a woman president -- preferably a Republican. March 17, 200620 yr Condoleeza will run. A woman president and black president at the same time! (if she won)
March 17, 200620 yr Hmmmmm, I doubt it. Look at all the sh*t Hillary got when they tried to portray her as a power in the White House. People still hate on her and call her a lesbian.
March 17, 200620 yr I don't think Rice or Hillary will be the first woman president. In some ways, Hillary is the Democrat version of Bush, you either love her or hate her. I'm not a fan, and would prefer to see someone like John Warner (governor of VA) as president. I liked McCain until recently, when he suddenly turned into an administration stooge.
March 17, 200620 yr Race and sex should have not have anything to do with it. If the candidate is qualified enough to run and he/ she is well liked then should have the same chance as a white man (the only President). I don't think that their will be a women president in the next 4-8 years. I could see a black President in a few years though. In my personal opinion I think the next President will be a Republican. I think possible if Colin Powell ran he could be the 1st black President, and Barack Obama has a good chance probably in 8-12 years.
March 17, 200620 yr I think what will get Rice in trouble is not the fact that she is a women or black, but that she is going to have the entire foreign policy of the Bush administration attached to her. All the intelligence failures and "bumps" in Iraq will not be the product of the previous administration but will be her 800 pound gorilla. But I also think she will lose some votes because she is a women and because she is black, especially if someone like Warner or Bayh gets the nod.
March 17, 200620 yr I think a black man will win it before a woman of any color. Colin Powell certainly could've won it, & Obama eventually may have a good shot at it as well.
March 17, 200620 yr Laura Bush is on crack if she thinks a black woman will win the White House in 2008. That and Condi Rice isnt that great of a candidate anyway like F_M said, the ties to this administration will take care of that, dont expect to see all the Bush supporters to throw their support blindly at Condi Rice. Factor that in with so many in this country who dont want to endure another 4/8 years of this administration and thats strike two. Anyone wanna go for strike 3?
March 19, 200620 yr Do any of you actually think all the redneck bible thumping f***s in this country who voted Bush in (TWICE!) the first place are going to elect a BLACK WOMAN!?!? HAH!
March 19, 200620 yr I don't think Rice or Hillary will be the first woman president. In some ways, Hillary is the Democrat version of Bush, you either love her or hate her. It's Mark Warner, buddy, not John.

March 20, 200620 yr A woman may eventually be president, but there aren't any I want to win in 08. I sorta want Bill Richardson, George Pataki, or McCain, none of which I think are women.

March 20, 200620 yr i think after bush, there is a backlash against the republicans for the next 20 years...but thats only if whatever democrat wins in 08 isnt a worse president than bush...but i find that hard to believe
March 20, 200620 yr i think after bush, there is a backlash against the republicans for the next 20 years...but thats only if whatever democrat wins in 08 isnt a worse president than bush...but i find that hard to believe 20 years is much too long, especially if the long term effects of iraq are in some way positive. Furthemore, the voters are shortsighted, if a dem does win the next election, he doesnt have to be worse than bush for another republican to win, he needs to be one that isnt going to ruffle any feathers socially, and that will attempt to alleviate some of the 'negatives' that have resulted from bush's presidency
