Aguila grounds out to 3rd to end the inning

Granted I'm not watching the game on TV, but that just seems like a poor piece of hitting from Aguila from what I can tell on gameday. Daniel Cabrera had thrown 12 straight balls and Aguila swung at the first pitch. You just can't do that, even if it is a grooved fastball.

if it's right down the middle i say take a swing. you know he's trying to throw a strike. might as well swing at a good pitch if he throws you one.

Meh, I don't know. Generally you make the pitcher throw you at least one strike before you go hacking at the ball, unless you're Barry Bonds or someone on that level. That's the way I was taught and have always heard it from high school and college coaches. Though I guess if that's what Girardi and the staff are teaching Aguila then he did the right thing.

Marlins hitless in the top of the fourth.

How my man R-bie doin?

Error in the first, run scored subsequently...struck out. Not his finest day so far.

fish done in the second on five pitches.

I guess that made up for the first inning!!

How my man R-bie doin?

Reggie struckout in his one at bat in the fourth and made a fielding error in the first.

Johnson out, Stewart (???) in. Most have reached his pitch count early.

Give Johnson credit he didn't implode after the dreadful first inning.
