September 10, 200322 yr Carl Pavano doesnt get alot of love around here but since 7/22, he is 5-1 with a 3.17era he now has a 3.96era this season he has been really good this year
September 10, 200322 yr I'd sign him up for next season. Leads the team in innings, leads in quality starts. Lowest walks of all the starters...
September 10, 200322 yr Pavz has been my favorite pitcher after AJ last season and this one. He has developed one Nasty change up to lefties and his Slider is breaking alot more. Notice he doesnt walk much batters. He is like 3rd in the NL for walks per game. He has really done good for us too bad he will go to the pen next season.
September 10, 200322 yr leads in quality starts. I didnt realize this. I know its a pretty dumb stat, but it does tell a lot about his season. A bunch of good outings, but a few crappy ones (Boston comes to mind) have made his season look like crap. What's his run support like? I could look it up.....but thats what yall are for!
September 10, 200322 yr I might be wrong, check the dates, but Carl really turn up when the team went out and sign Helling. Can we say job security???I don't want to take anything away from Carl his really improve as the season has gone along. I remember not to long ago he couldn't go past 5IN. I believe the OBA against him after the 5IN jump from the low .200 to upper .300, low .400 but his improved greatly :arms bravo Pava
September 10, 200322 yr i have a question pertaining to pavano, so i'd figure i'd ask it in this thread. assuming we get to the playoffs, will Pavano work off long relief in the pen? and He wouldnt be in the playoff starting rotation would he?

September 10, 200322 yr The Marlins never thought about replacing Pavano with Helling(a career starter). Its just the thought of another starter coming in from outside the organization. It makes those in the rotation wonder, if they aren't performing up to there expectation. So Carl being the fifth starter with the most losses, probable thought he wasn't getting it done.
September 10, 200322 yr I didnt realize this.? I know its a pretty dumb stat, but it does tell a lot about his season.? A bunch of good outings, but a few crappy ones (Boston comes to mind) have made his season look like crap.? What's his run support like?? I could look it up.....but thats what yall are for! not sure what his run support is but check out these starts. 7 IP, 2 Runs 7 IP, 0 R 6 IP, 0 R 7 IP, 0 R 6 IP, 1 R 7 IP, 1 R Each of these games were no-decisions for Pavano but the Marlins won every single one.

September 10, 200322 yr I predicted from the beginning that Pavano would be very good for us this year. He doesnt get as much love as he should, but that is because he is overshadowed by D Train, Beckett, Redman, and the rejuventated Penny. Fact it, this whole damn staff doesnt get enough love - and that is because they are all pretty good. Imagine when Burnett comes back! Is there any team in MLB with the talent we have? :w00t
September 10, 200322 yr Pavano is a really solid starter. If you take out the Boston Massacre on June 27, his ERA would be like 3.70!
September 10, 200322 yr I agree! With AJ we have 6 legitamite quality starters. Our ERA's would be freakin' crazy: AJ: 3.00 Beckett: 3.00 Redman: 3.5 DTrain:3.5 Penny: 4 Pavano:4 That is really good considering ATL's Russ Ortiz has an ERA of 3.86!
September 10, 200322 yr Author 6 man staff?(it would definitely put less wear and tear on their arms i would think) interesting.... unfortunately all 6 may not be back
September 10, 200322 yr What's his run support like? I could look it up.....but thats what yall are for! Worst of ANYONE in the National League, last time I checked.
September 11, 200322 yr I SAY WHEN AJ COMES BACK WE GO TO A 6 MAN ROTATION Ooooh...Blue's Clues... Judging from the clues...the typing in all caps...I say you're that guy from Dilbert who yells all the time.
