Hey everyone, on another messsage board a bunch of guys I know are arguing with one Braves homer that Victor Martinez is better than Brian McCann. I would like to hear who you guys would rather have.

 

My vote goes for Victor Martinez.

No Brainer, Victor Martinez hands down. If you want McCann over Victor Martinez you are a complete idiot, and obviously a Braves fan, who in my book (no offense) falls in love with their players.

ok, fate, McCann starts everyday. the only time McCann dosent start, is when a lefty is on the mound, cuz Cox dosent like starting young leftys vs left handed pitchers. and ur just out of ur mind if u say Martinez is better than McCann. look at what McCann is doin at only the age of 22! he is on his way 2 become the leagues best catcher!

 

Martinez has more ABs...yet...McCann has the same ammount of HRs, and has 3 less RBIs...and McCann has had less guys steal on him, and has thrown out more than Martinez. McCann can hit and play defense...who wouldent want him as there starting catcher?! i mean, f**k, hes only 22 years old!

 

Vince...answer my question. would u rather have a guy like McCann, who has less ABs than Martinez, and has a higher BA, same ammount of homers, and 3 less RBIs, and can throw out almost half the runners who run aginst him, or Martinez, who has a lower BA than McCann, has the same amount of homers, and 3 more RBIs, in more ABs, but cant throw any1 out?

 

Vince...its not McCanns fault he only played 59 games last sesaon. i mean, f**k, we had Johnny Estrada on the team last year...but look at what McCann is doin now that he is in the majors...he has the best BA in the NL right now!

 

and go on ahead and take Victor Martinez. McCann is more valuble 2 a team. while Martinez can only hit, McCann can hit and play catcher. McCann is what a team is looking 4 in a catcher

 

And just for the heck of it.

 

i could care less about the Marlins. but who gives a crap what a guy is doin in A ball? i mean, d*mn, A ball is nothing. i could go in A ball, and do the same thing as Volstead or what ever the f*ck his name is

 

 

If I could show you guys the majority of his posts you would crack up. He has made an entire message board completely hate all Atlanta teams.

Victor is the man. McCann is going to be pretty good as well. We're starting to see the new generation of catchers entering MLB as the last generation (Piazza, Pudge, etc.) wrap up their careers.

Martinez will hit well over.300 and get 100 RBIs...McCann will do none of that

so one had a good month ... ok

McCann is 22.

 

Martinez is 27 going on 28 this year.

 

It wouldn't be a stretch to say that McCann has the higher ceilling.

 

Martinez has only 1 100 RBI season. McCann is currently hitting .353. So to say that Martinez's RBI output and ability to hit for average trumps McCann would be a bit foolish.

1 year thing: Victor, great catcher, he may not be and all star like defence catcher like Pudge but the guy can hit and hit for power and contact!

 

To add to a franchises to make them better, McCann. The kid is great, he hit a HR of Rocket. Obviosuly he has a lot to prove to stand with Martinez, but for the future I would definatly take him, I can almost safely say he has the potential to do better then what Martinez is doing if he continues to work hard.

I'll take Joe Mauer over both of these guys.

McCann messed up his ankle so give me Victor.
