I was hoping for a Bill Murray "It Just Doesn't Matter" motivational speech from Meatballs...

or John Belushi's speech from Animal House...

lol

both hilarious movies (werent there like 5 meatballs movies? lolol) Bill Murray: Even if we play over our heads so badly that our noses bleed for a week...It just doesn't matter....Even if God in heaven above, points his finger at our side of the field..It just doesn't matter...It..just...doesn't matter....It just doesn't matter, it just doesn't matter, IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!!!!!

--Going for that reverse psycholgy pep-talk....It worked in Meatballs...lol

well if Das thinks it is important it must be true :wacko :

Did I make the decision tonight?

No.

Have I been whining about the players on the field? No.

I am tired of the constant whining.

Its time to make it public. Believe

time to make what public? what does that mean anyway? ok great, "believe"...

ok, now what?

this is sports and people are fans. fans b*tch and moan and second guess when they lose, & cheer when they win. i'm sure this is nothing new to you.

you may as well try ending world hunger with the next thread.

I've believed, for better or worse, since opening day of 1993. Following this team, through thick and thin, from all the way up here in Columbus has been hard as hell (darn near impossible before the internet in '99). I dropped 160 bucks (or whatever it was) just to watch this team play all year. I think we've been through a lot, as Fish fans, and at this point, I'm along for the ride. I spent 25 minutes defending McKeon after the last game of the Phillies series and at this point, I don't see the point in criticizing this team anymore. They keep finding ways to do what needs to be done and, honestly, it's to the point where I can't fathom us NOT making the playoffs (knock on wood...just for the hell of it). Now, I'm not saying that people shouldn't criticize the team, hell, that's your right and knock yourself out, but it's pointless right now. Folks, it really doesn't get any better than this, especially after the last 5 years. This has been a rollar coaster ride this year (mostly up since late May) and I, for one, can't wait to see how it ends (even if I think I know). I'm just glad I found this board, finally, to help me follow the ups and downs even closer and to finally be around some other Fish fans. This is going to be one fun week.

you may as well try ending world hunger with the next thread. i think Das is trying to say don't be negative so easily. For instance my brother said "forget it, we lost" once the braves tied the game. i had to wrestle the remote out of his hand so he wouldnt change the channel. next thing i know Cabs gets a homerun (KoolianoJayCubano so called it when i was talking to him btw) and i punch my brother in the stomach for being such an a$$. i heard some people say they were ready to give up when we lost yesterday. Das is just trying to rally those doubters. try to go to the last few games people!! i'm sure they would like the support!

word.

most sports fans are idiots too...what does that tell you?

lol, no argument there.

personally i believe the team will make the playoffs, but that doesn't mean i won't be sweating buckets over every pitch, at-bat, coaching move, etc...

I am already getting one ring in October.....

I want to get another one (albeit it a plastic replica) next Opening Day!
