May 29, 200620 yr How come Girardi insists upon having a .220 hitter in the 3rd spot? Cause he knows it drives you nuts. :thumbup

May 29, 200620 yr Jacobs is hitting .315 against righties better than ramirez, uggla, and cabrera Keyword here boys is ownage. :mischief
May 29, 200620 yr I dont like it, Hermida should be 3rd or 4th I think oh wells. Let's see him with some semi-consistent production before we give him that spot in the order. I'd love it if we could get Hermida on track, we all know he has the ability to hit third. But he missed a lot of time and even the rookies have much more ML experience than him right now. Even though a .220 hitter shouldn't be 3rd, I agree with what Girardi is trying to do and if nothing else, Jacobs has been very clutch.
May 29, 200620 yr At least Olivo and Borchard arent in the lineup. Amen to that! Olivo I can live with but he needs to be hitting 8th.

May 29, 200620 yr At least Olivo and Borchard arent in the lineup. You'd rather have Treanor than Olivo? I'd rather have neither. They both suck something awful. Trenor's defense is better, but neither should be starting for a MLB baseball club. On their very best days, they are almost average. So, I guess I'd rather just have a catcher that is capable of being a starter at the MLB level, something we do not have.

May 29, 200620 yr Having a good arm doesnt make you good defensively. Overall, Treanor is better. When you are a catcher it's a big part of it.
May 29, 200620 yr Either way, it doesnt change the fact neither should be starting for an MLB team. And overall IMO Treanor is still a better defender. Treanor also has a higher % of throwing out base runners.
May 29, 200620 yr treanor is not a starting catcher for us jacobs is batting 3rd against righties to split up our lefties...id assume hermida moves there once he gets going.

Olivo is in the top third in slugging among all catchers. why must you exaggerate constantly?
May 29, 200620 yr Not really an exageration. More of a spotlight on the fact that the quality of catchers has declined alot in recent years. Olivo is not starter quality. 27 years old, 4th team in 5 seasons. Not good defensively.
