No Changes Needed

I don't think there are any major changes needed for this team. Everyone talks about a new CF & C. But Abercrombie & Olivio are doing a pretty good job. Our most glaring weakness is the Bullpen and if Joe stopped using Herges & Wellmeyer we would be in better shape. I think they should have Pinto in, you just can't win without a lefty in the Bullpen. This team is really stacked with talent and I think we're starting to see what they're capable of.

I think more than anything you need to find a leadoff capable hitter to let Hanley move down and have more RBI chances.

His bat's just far too good to be used as a leadoff hitter.

i really dont mind him there, he gets on base and gets a couple more ab.

i think that abe will be fine, he's a rookie with 5 tools...he has a lot of potential and in the month of my he was batting like .287 which means he's improving..give him some time and he will be good

we're very good...beyond good for RIGHT NOW...we have all the pieces to be successful...more than a lot of other teams that are just winning more...the key is having all our pieces working at the same time...once we get that working, as we have this homestand...then we'll truly be on the rise...

in all honesty...with no silly mental mistakes or rookie errors...I'd match this team up head to head with all but a select few major league teams right now...and we'd have an excellent chance of winning...I strongly believe that...

need bullpen tweaked... (read no Herges or Wellesmeyer)

KMart will be back soon, and I expect Tank to get a call sooner than later (probably leading to Welle getting DFA'd

To be honest, I'm not sold on Abercrombie at all becuase out of all his tools, he is missing a very important one- contact. In the 3 games I've seen live in the last 2 weeks, he has done a good job of working the count. The problem is, he lacks the ability to make contact and thats something enhanced discipline won't fix. I've seen pitchers come right at him with nothing but fastballs and he still can't hit three in a row. All pitchers are doing now is getting it in the zone even with a 3-0 count. I'm not saying we should abandon him just yet, and we certainly don't have any options with more potential, but don't beleive that just because he has some tools that he is guaranteed to pan out. IMO, which obviously isn't worth that much becuase I am not a professional it's just what I observed, he is more likely to remain below average than ever really pan out, although the possibility remains.

This year is a "give them a chance to see what they can do " year.

No one is expecting this team to go anywhere. That being said, with only two months into the baseball season it is still too early to tell what the true potential of this young team really is.

There are, however, several unique categories we can use (and have some fun with)

The "keepers". Cabrera, Willis, Ramirez, Uggla

The "almost there" category. Johnson, Nolasco, German, Martinez

The "started out very well and hopefully only slumping now". Willingham

The "should have been a sure thing by reputation but have not proven it yet". Jacobs, Hermida

The "has a lot of potential but strikes out too much". Abercrombie

The "give them another chance because they seem to be improving" Moehler, Kensing, Herges, Messenger

The "jury still out" Olsen, Borowski

The "have not seen enough of them to have a real opinion" Petit, Ross, Tankersley

The "good as back ups/ bench" Borchard, Helms, Olivo, Treanor, Amezaga
