Marlins Pitching Prospects Realizing or Exceeding Expectations
As I read these trade rumor threads, I am continually suprised at how many fans seem to be willing to trade our rookie starting pitchers. We have three rookie pitchers ? Scott Olsen, Josh Johnson and Ricky Nolasco ? that are very close to winning their tenth game in late July. The current ace of our staff ended up winning the Rookie of the Year Award a few years ago winning 14 games. Johnson leads the NL in ERA. Olsen is showing glimpses of what he might become ? a strikeout machine. Nolasco came close to throwing a no hitter last night. And then there is our fourth rookie pitcher in the rotation, Anibal Sanchez. This guy just set the record for scoreless innings pitched by a Marlins rookie a few nights ago. Maybe I am just foolish, but when you have so many stud pitching prospects to trade why would you not trade those prospects for impact players rather than the prospects who have proved their worth and then some? For every 10 prospects out there, 9 inevitably fail. We have four former SP prospects who have all shown they could form, with Dontrelle Willis, one of the most formidable rotations in all of baseball. Just my 2 cents. argee completely, i would reject Any offer that involved more then one of them. they are all almost as valuble as willis and i would need to be blown away with like one of the willis type offers.

Gold Glove for Olivo?
ERA identical, our whip is higher, cg/sho #'s are pretty much the same, we have more K's as a staff. what does that have to do with holding runners?

Matt Herges (Joe Frisario content)
German allowed too many walks Herges allowed many runs(w/hits). BB is one of most serious stats as a pitcher. So, Girardi chose veteran Herges , I think... and he'll give a chance in a losing-game or big runs game, we know. how does that makes sense? are games decided by who has the least walk, oh wait games are won by who scores the most RUNs

Your Top 20 prospects
Not counting people in the majors (Hermida, Uggla, Ramirez, Petit, Nolasco, Pinto, Olsen, Johnson, Martinez, Tankersly, Vargas and Resop too): Chris Volstad Anibal Sanchez Aaron Thompson Sean West Gaby Hernandez Kris Harvey Gaby Sanchez Grant Psomas Ryan Tucker Jacob Marceaux Brad McCann Jesus Delgado pretty much agree with that list but Marceaux has really shown anything that he could produce at the major league level. tucker is on the same boat but he younger. also i would add Edgar V. Gonzalez

Cabrera shedding weight from the miami herald
cabrera reminds me of shaq , great talent , but views the offseason as just that time to be away from training . hopefully recognition of this problem will prevent miggy from balloning up next year . either way the guy can still flat out hit much more committed then shaq when he training

Herald says Wellemeyer to be released...
Why NOT herges? when has he come through? and he is 36. is he blackmailing joe or something

Trading Dontrelle.
look i really like d train but if we can get 3 top prosects that are close to the majors why not trade him. why are we putting willis on this pedestal like he is more important then every other player comined. sure i would be like down to see him go but its not like it's the last straw to following this team, i mean we gone through worse and gotten much less back. willis might never again be as dominate for as long as he did last year, and he would have to to make these deals not make sense for us.

No Changes Needed
I think more than anything you need to find a leadoff capable hitter to let Hanley move down and have more RBI chances. His bat's just far too good to be used as a leadoff hitter. i really dont mind him there, he gets on base and gets a couple more ab.

The Comparison Lineup thread
i hate to say it but Abercrombie reminds me of Corey Patterson. even though corey is doing much better now i still dont trust him.

HanRam a Steal
cabrera is not in the top five of vote getters? that a joke, he has the highest OPS of any 3rd baseball AL and NL. You can factor in the defense but how is he not in the top five?

Hermida is here!
Hanley Uggla Hermida (I like him here because he gets on base) Miggy Hammer Jake Borch/Ross/Reggie Olivo/Treanor Pitcher have to change that for lefties, hanley and uggla have been tearing up lhp and hermida been struggling aganist lhps

Section 125-130 possible gold mine monday night
One of the most chemicially enhanced players of all time...Barry lost his claim to greatness when he started the moltov coctail of illegal performance enhancers. I'd sell it to one of the few delusional fans that thinks Barry's accomplishments are legitimate. Buy me a Aston Martin DB9 Volante. he was a 500-500 hitter before he got huge.

Herges and Wellemeyer Question
ya while i think Wellemeyer could be a decent reliever if he only pitches at home(allows alot of fly balls) and cuts down his walks, think its about time we cut him.

More Trade Rumors
lol, I know. I had to argue with folks all the time why the marlins wont trade him. And how willis at 4 million isnt that much money LOL because he brings people to the ballpark and increases tv ratings.

Lineups for todays game.
I guess this would be radical, but maybe we can start Helms versus LH pitchers? Jacobs is batting .132 versus LH pitchers this season and Helms is 4-8 with 1 HR lifetime versus Glavine. Why? You gotta let Jacobs develop to see if he is a full time player because if he cant be then you go look for a 1b. why not? helms crushes lhp and jacobs doesnt. we will still play him
