September 4, 200718 yr The joker looks super gay. Why because he doesn't look like Nicholson. Ugggh, one of my biggest pet peeves is people who build their entire knowledge of a series on the movies. The first movie lied to you, read some of the comics please. Those pics are awesome and I don't mind the bat suit. When I saw the first pictures of Begins I didn't like it but it'll turn out fine. Dude, get over yourself. I couldn't care less if he looks like Nicholson or not, I just happen to think he looks gay.

I have read some of the comics [my college roomy was a HUGE collector] and a few of the graphic novels. I know what the Joker is supposed to be and what he is supposed to look like. Still not a fan of Ledger or the pictures. I'm sure the story will be awesome, though.
September 4, 200718 yr The Nolan franchise is not really based on the graphic novels though like a lot of people think. They are little more then a basis or insperation. I personally think Heath looks awesome. Also, publicty photos are never a good thing to form a strong opinion on in my view. What you see in those photos is probably going to look a lot different on screen.

September 4, 200718 yr I think Heath Ledger is the best choice because he is a fantastic actor. The guy has a deep Australian accent and the voice he used in the teaser trailer blows my mind. Heath is awesome.
September 4, 200718 yr Yeah - it is definately NOT based on any graphic novels. It's a reimagination, which is fine. I think the only important thing is that you capture the essence of the characters. What I loved about BB was that it was an awesome story and showed Batman in a way he had never been done before. Most importantly, that is the Batman of the comics that fanboys wanted to see on the screen and it delivered. When it comes to a villain as important as the Joker, you can't mess up. Case in point? "PADME!!!!!!!!!" Don't F*** with an awesome character.

At least that knew it's limitations and didn't take itself so seriously. The original Batman was suppossed to be the definitve version of the caped crusader on film. It certainly isn't. Tim Burton is probably one of the most overrated directors going. His imagination and story creation is top notch but his execution is pretty poor (See: Every live action film he has made sans Big Fish)

The original series kicked ass and it was funny. The suits and all the labeled objects looked straight out of a comic book.
