Although, that was out of necessity though as they were starting a new franchise and trying to eliminate the public's past image of past Batmans. This time around we know what to expect. That said, some of you may need to understand what a 'teaser' trailer actually is. Especially the first one.

That said, some of you may need to understand what a 'teaser' trailer actually is. Especially the first one. I absolutely agree that less is more in a teaser trailer, but at least show something. It can't just be all talking. What is the difference between that and a radio ad? They could have at least shown a flash of the Joker to get non fanboys excited.

(That is if it actually keeps its current release date it could be longer) Few movies ever get teasers that early outside of the big blockbusters. The initial year to go teaser shouldn't be expected to show anything substantial. I think we're 'lucky' to get this to be honest.

The Spider Man 3 teaser was released about a year away from the movie, if I recall correctly. Now that was a teaser that made people talk, got people exited even if they weren't big Spiderman fans. That's what a Teaser should do, IMO. This teaser just seems like a waste of money. It's not really going to get anyone excited or talking about the movie, it's just making the fans say ... "hmmm ok, guess we just need to wait a few months for the real trailer, but at least we got something." The non followers of Batman are just going to be saying what? probably nothing. I just don't see the point.
July 28, 200719 yr It gets me excited because Batman Begins was such a damn good flick, I know what to expect from a quality director like Christopher Nolan. The Dark Knight doesn't need smoke and mirrors to promote itself like Spider-Man 3, the previous effort did that for it. I think this teaser does it's job perfectly. I like it a lot. The voice overs from two characters so iconic you don't need their face and then the joker's words and a card coming to view with the logo that needs no introduction. In a darkened theatre, I think it'd be fantastic. Spider-Man 3 had to create hype (The teaser was released ~10 months before, btw) and what not because it's such a terrible franchise with little substance. It's all hype and CGI and emo storylines. FWIW, it has gotten people talking as we are both doing. May not be the way it was intended at all but a teaser gets buzz one way or the other. I honestly don't care what the masses think about this movie. I hope it gets the minimum it needs to take in to make the future installments Nolan wants anything besides that is just gravy. If you are or were interested in this film, is a sub-par first teaser going to effect if you go see it or not? Of course not.

Patrick Leahy is set to leave the marble halls of Washington for the bright lights of Hollywood ? at least briefly. Vermont's senior senator has landed a speaking role in the newest Batman movie, CNN affiliate WPTZ reports and confirmed by Leahy's office. Leahy is apparently a big comic book enthusiast, and actually served as an extra in the 1997 Batman installment: Batman and Robin. The senator told the station he can't reveal the exact details of his role in the upcoming movie, but he did say he has landed a scene with its two stars, Christian Bale and Heath Ledger. It?s not particularly uncommon for senators and other Washington notables to accept movie roles when given the chance. Arizona Sen. John McCain made a brief cameo in the 2005 Summer blockbuster, "Wedding Crashers." The cast of the 1993 political comedy ?Dave? starred, among others, Sens. Chris Dodd, Tom Harkin, Howard Metzenbaum, Paul Simon and Alan Simpson, as well as Speaker Tip O?Neill. Pretty cool
September 2, 200718 yr The joker looks super gay. Why because he doesn't look like Nicholson. Ugggh, one of my biggest pet peeves is people who build their entire knowledge of a series on the movies. The first movie lied to you, read some of the comics please. Those pics are awesome and I don't mind the bat suit. When I saw the first pictures of Begins I didn't like it but it'll turn out fine.
