Without liberals in this nation, we never become a nation in the first place. Thank God for liberals in this nation who liberated us from the British.

Amen to that.

That was a different kind of liberal, Miss Torch.

Thanks for playing though.

No one cares about what the French say.

What does this have to do with the French?

Don't ask. He's just spouting gibberish.

The Statue of Liberty is French :thumbup

You're right. All the libeal idealogy is a total 180 from those same ideals seen in the late 18th century.

Liberals hate America

You said it Miss Statue not me.

We do not believe liberals hate America we just like saying it because we believe if we keep saying it enough then eventually it will be true so there will be no reason for us to think it anymore, it will be fact.

Now Miss Statue it has occured to me that you are pushing how many years old now and you have had how many jobs? Yes Miss Statue you are nothing but a MOOCHER of this great land. You are what is wrong with this nation Miss Statue. You do not work rather you just stand around, milling, liking that people look at you yet you have no plans to get a job or to pay taxes or anything like that. No Miss Statue you just expect us to use our tax dollars to clean you and keep you pretty. How would you think the great people of this land had to start paying the bill for our actresses and tv personalities to keep themselves pretty just because. Damn straight they wouldn't like it. I tell you what Miss Statue, find yourself a job and start taking better care of yourself because honestly you look as old as you are and at your age that is not a good thing.

So some may call you Statue of Liberty, I call you Statue of what is wrong with this nation.

I'm surprised Accord hasnt made an appearance yet....

Just a matter of time.

Although I expect worse from WildManMarlin or Shaqman, personally. Not that it matters anyways.

I don't even know that this is even a discussion. Just leftist flag-waving (which I can't stand as much as rightist flag-waving).

 The 'liberal' that Washington was speaking of was in fact the liberal ideology, of which the country is founded on. This is most commonly referred to as classical liberalism, which is today followed most closely by the Libertarian party.

Not to be confused with modern liberalism, which emerged later on (people debate whether it arouse with the rise of socialism in the 1800s or not, but it was first seen in the US in 1932 when FDR was elected). In fact, when Washington was alive, the two parties were neither liberal nor conservative. They were Democractic Republicans (not to be confused with Democrats, that was Jackson) and Federalists (later to be replaced by Whigs).

I'm a Libertarian! *runs around pumping fist*

I really am.

Thanks for the history lesson. The ideals and thoughts behind which Washington spoke and other great people of that era are definitely parts of the foundation of liberalism today. Way to totally miss the point.

And they're the foundations of conservatism. In fact, they're the foundations of any political belief in this country.

I'm not missing the point, I'm dismissing it as unfounded.

So is the idea of liberals being unpatriotic. But yet the right wing will have you believe that on a daily basis.

The conservatives have forgotten many of the founding principles of this nation anyway in recent history, which leads you to believe that liberals have a better understanding of what the founding fathers intended for the future of this nation recently.

Meh, I would say there's "bad guys" on both sides who have forgotten some core values this country was built on. You can find a vocal extremist almost anywhere these days, and they're the ones usually getting the most press and tv time.

Both parties throw mud at each other all the time. The Republicans are in power, so they claim that the Democrats are unpatriotic. The Democrats are out of power, so they say that the Republicans are eroding democracy.

But then again, you're obviously very set in your propaganda, so this isn't worth it anyways.

what you have to do is take a look at the various parties, eliminate the radicals of each party and then you have what the party really stands for.

Gotta love how you have a nice makeup of those very radials on this very site.

Its so awesome.

My favorite part about this game is that while the mud is being slung, both parties forget about thier damn responsiblities and thats to the American people and in the end we all suffer.

Good job!

PS. Thats probably why I hate the power structure now, because the Republicans in charge are from that radical branch of the Republican party.

Ain't that the truth.

Kind of off-topic.

But Stephen Colbert isn't funny. Nor is Jon Stewart.

So overrated.
