really hard to say, that ball wasnt exactly hit softly, and you guard the lines with 2 down in the ninth up a run.

 

 

also andrew plays shallow, glaus hit that ball hard, its not being caught by anyone unless they are playing as deep as you can get and playing him to pull.

andruw'd get to that ball. even if he's playing relatively shallow, he gets the best jump on baseballs in the league. i think he'd get to it. he gets to he deep balls in the regular season as well..

Statistically, Wright is the worst NL 3B to make it, he's last to Cabrera in OPS, OBP, SLG and BA, and he leads only Rolen in SLG of the three that made it, defensively he's weaker than Rolen and a wash with Miggy (both have identical fielding percentages, .947 to .949. Yet one gets to play seven innings, two don't get an AB and the best defensive player of the three never sees the field.

 

And here's another thing that pisses me off. Uggla has such a great feel-good story. The Marlins need fan support. MLB seemingly wants the Marlins to work in Miami. Yet not so much as a mention of Uggla "over-coming the odds." I mean, to me that helps MLB a hell of a lot more than the 15th Wright vignette.

 

And one more thing; the next person to say "stop being a homer" should just realize that the All-Star game is all about homerism, otherwise LoDuca and Wright wouldn't be starting.

Shaq-Man, I'm not contrarian, I just don't care. I was happy just to have Marlins in the All-Star Game. The ABs, PT, etc. are meaningless to me. Let's be realistic here, I'd care if we were competing for the World Series, but we're not so to me, winning the game was irrelevant. Miguel got a buttload of praise last night during the All-Star Game anyway so I don't feel cheated. He was even compared to Ken FREAKING Griffey, Jr. That's all I need to hear.

You're assuming that the starters are the best players available. Bad assumption. The fans are the ones voting, remember and they're not GM's for a reason.

 

Freddy Sanchez is having a great season, but if you're down one in the B9, do you let him leadoff with Nomar, Andruw and Rolen on the bench (along with Uggla)? Hopefully we'll sweep him this weekend just like Ozzie did last October.

I was pretty disappointed not being able to see Uggla or Cabrera get at bats. I know for a fact Cabrera let that ball get by him so he'd have a shot at seeing a plate appearance. Phil Garner was playing to win because he thinks his Astros will make it to the World Series again (which they WON'T) and receive home field advantage. Why he thought allowing Cabrera or Uggla to see real playing time would hinder his opportunity to win is beyond me, but I am glad the NL lost because Mr. Garner can now officially feel like the degenerate he is.

I know for a fact Cabrera let that ball get by him so he'd have a shot at seeing a plate appearance.
