August 4, 200620 yr That's why Fenway isn't a home run park, in alot of other parks those two shots by Ortiz are homers.
August 4, 200620 yr so Beckett now has an ERA of 5.00 and has allowed 31 homers the most in baseball. Yeah , he's an ace.
August 4, 200620 yr so Beckett now has an ERA of 5.00 and has allowed 31 homers the most in baseball. Yeah , he's an ace. Nobody said he was an ace, but you have to be a fool to not be able to see the ability is there. He just needs to stop throwing exclusively fastballs.
August 4, 200620 yr Not with a 2.52 era and a 0.90 WHIP in his wins. He's been grooving when he wins.
August 4, 200620 yr Not with a 2.52 era and a 0.90 WHIP in his wins. He's been grooving when he wins. Yes he is good when he wins. He sucks when he doesn't. so Beckett now has an ERA of 5.00 and has allowed 31 homers the most in baseball. Yeah , he's an ace. Kerry Wood on Oliver Perez have the ability also.

I hope you update us on Arroyo from here on out. :thumbup I don't understand your point. He is good when wins? Ok? So because he is good when he wins that makes him a good pitcher? No. 3.62 ERA is alot better then 5. He has been sucking lately though.

Kerry Wood on Oliver Perez have the ability also. Apples meet oranges. Kerry Wood has two pitches. Oliver Perez was screwed up by his pitching coach, he'll improve in new surroundings with a pitching coach that won't make him change everything about him. Josh will have a much more normal ERA next year assuming he starts throwing that curve and changeup.
August 4, 200620 yr If Josh would stop being stubborn and mix his pitches up more he'd be a perennial Cy Young award winner. He's shown what he can do here and there in the regular season and he certainly showed it in the 03 playoffs. Problem is we've been saying that for years, will he ever learn?
August 4, 200620 yr so Beckett now has an ERA of 5.00 and has allowed 31 homers the most in baseball. Yeah , he's an ace. :o Holy crap! I didn't realize he had given up so many HRs!

August 4, 200620 yr Maybe his problems stem from his not being able to work on his curve much between starts. He's managed to beat his blisters this season by putting a band-aid on his finger when he throws between starts. The only problem is, he says he can't throw curveballs with his finger taped.

August 4, 200620 yr I sat in section 149 row 25 seat 1 for Big Tex' major league debut. I liked him from the start and I wish him nothing but the best. How soon some of them forget October 2003 huh Josh? Ha. Thats funny: I sat in section 145 for his debut. Was my favorite player also. I remember showing up early just to watch him warm up in the bullpen and got to talk to his dad a little bit who was coaching him from the stands during his warm up.
