August 12, 200619 yr He has deffinately shocked alot of ppl with his improvement, and as he gains more experience it will only get better. He has turned some very very nice doubles plays up the middle, him and Hanley click on all cylinders. The hands and feet just continue to get quicker.
August 12, 200619 yr That is surprising. I guess those spectacular diving plays Uggla can pull off sometimes really have a cachet with managers. Like Hanley, he can make spectacular plays from time to time but has problems with fundamental plays (though less so with Uggla). I guess that is better than not being able to make the spectacular plays and the fundamental ones. Both he and Hanley can learn to make those with more frequency over time.

Did anyone hear the interview with Perry Hill where he started describing the six types of feeds a second baseman can give to a shortstop? He really does have this down to a science. It's insane. Mike Lowell wasn't very good at third base when he started, and now he's a Gold Glover. Perry Hill never gets enough credit.
August 12, 200619 yr did they survey for defensive pitchers? if you're thinking about dontrelle, he's not a top defensive pitcher. He puts 100% effort into every play, but he has made some errors. He's had a couple of great plays, but he's not a top five defensive pitcher
