August 16, 200619 yr http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/stats/indivi...p;sitSplit1=rsp What is the record for OBP with RISP for a season for a marlins player? I think miggy is going to break it. Before todays big time game Miggy was at .514 which is pretty much sick.

August 17, 200619 yr Another amazing statistic is Miggy's OBP w/ 2-outs and RISP: .565!!!!! :o This eliminates any fielder's choices in that OBP. BTW, Cabrera is batting .386 w/ 2-out and RISP. :notworthy
August 17, 200619 yr I'm not saying Miguel hasn't been hitting well with RISP (he has been great this year) but his RISP OBP is inflated due to IBB's and pitcher's pitching around him with a runner on second and first base open.

Absolutely true. Knowing that teams are pitching around him, though, especially with RISP, and he's still batting .380 in these situations, is pretty amazing. Here's something to ponder: Ryan Howard, who is a beast, is only batting .238 w/ RISP, including .194 with 2-out and RISP. So even though he has 41 HR and over 100 ribbies, is he really more productive than Cabs this yr??? :mischief2

Now let's see. 21 soloshots to Mig's RBI total would put him in with about 108. Howard has more then 108, now hink of it with runners that might have been on base with those extra 21 HR's. I think it's grea that miguel is hitting so well. Another stat I saw that was pretty backwards to me was Miguel had a higer batting average in the 4 hole but more homeruns in the 3 hole.
August 17, 200619 yr I wouldn't pitch to him if first was open either. Watching that guy take BP gives me a chubby.
