Good news for Season Ticket Holders. No raise in prices. There are a few changes but not in prices. For instance, they are going back to giving out a Media Guide (one per account) with purchase of the full season package. I didn't see anything on the parking passes so I don't know if there will be a raise there. But knowing Huizenga I figure he wants to off set some of those construction costs to the new and improved Dolphin Stadium in some way. That would be a viable way to get into Marlins fans pockets again to benefit himself.

No idea on the voucher plans at this time. My package says those with those type of plans will get info a little later.

For those that buy tickets one game at a time there is a little unsettling news. Buying single game tickets in advance will have a different price tag than buying tickets on gameday. Example is as follows. I'm not sure of the current prices for single game tickets so I'll use the Fish Tank as an example. Box Office Advanced will be $9. Box Office Gameday will be $12. I don't know if that $9 is an increase or not. I do have the complete pricing plan here so if anyone is interested in exact prices for certain locations I can help.

Naturally we have no problem with this. Our price didn't go up. But those of you that don't get season tickets may have some discussion. I see this as taking care of the season ticket holders and an attempt to encourage others to buy the full season package. I figured to see a drop in season ticket sales this coming year because we all had to renew in order to get guaranteed seats for the would be play offs last year, something many complained about. I also understand people having problems last year with the unexpected requirement to pay for 2006 to get playoff tickets when we all believed that by having 2005 tix, playoff priorities were guaranteed-but then again, this did not affect me as I was going to get my tix for 06 anyways, but I understand-credibility Jeff and pervert.

 

Now, however, I was thinking last night that as long as the team is in the hunt, we will be getting that wonderful expensive, pay up front playoff package. That is a big hit. Geez, last years playoff tix were double the amount from 2003.

I haven't recieved anything on that yet. Seems like last year they were at the same time. And right now they are talking about an additional 5% discount if done with 2 different options by Sept 15th. Plan A is full price paid by 5PM that day which will also get you 2 free tickets to every Marlins home ST game, the plan we will most likely go for even tho no word on where those ST tix are located but I would guess bleacher section. Plan B is 5 payments agreed to by 5PM on Sept 15th and then payments in Oct, Nov, Dec, and Feb all on the 15th.

Our sales rep has been Steve Siskel. Unfortunetly he has moved on to the U's staff. So right now we are without a sales rep. Believe me, we have our calls in daily to get this taken care of.

This plan is either genius as it somewhat forces people to decide a little before the game and thus hedges against weather depleted turnout or it's going to blow up in their faces as people are turned off by another price hike and an incredibly sizable one for walkup (since advance will also, likely, make people subject to ticketmaster surcharges).

 

I think it's a roll of the dice, but since when has Loria even been afraid of alienating fans?

 

BTW, the deadline is September 15th and they've published that going forward, playoff tickets will only be given to those renewing for the following season.

I'm not a season ticket holder (obviously), but that news about the change in the individual game tickets is disturbing. Back in June, I ONLY purchased my tickets on gameday because it was less risky in terms of rainouts.

 

But you're the exception not living in the market (or the state for that matter ).

 

It might work, it might backfire but I suspect it's the former.

Most people will probably not even realize the difference unless they go to a LOT of games. If you go to the stadium and pay the 10 bucks for parking, there's no way you're going to leave because Fish Tank seats are 3 dollars extra.

well this is good and bad for the out of state fan. I'm hoping to have an internship that involves the Marlins in some way shape or form, but if I can't do that I am considering a partial plan. Do theyoffer partial plans that include May-August games only?

The good think about having a stadium downtown (like Oriole Park) is that you get a lot of garages competing for prices. I know a garage 2 blocks from the stadium that charges $10 for parking, which is actually pretty cheap. I also know some places to park for free put they are a little sketchy.

 

Apparently one of the "drawbacks" of the downtown Miami stadium is that there are too many parking options and too much public transportation. Strange.

We just renewed. And finally got a sales rep tp replace Steve Sisko, who is no longer with the team. From what I was told the previous season ticket holders have the first option to upgrade their tickets. Also we were told that we have the priority on seats over those that buy the 20 game and week end game plans. And seating will be made known by sometime in October, unlike last year. Steve kept us going well into ST on our move from row 3 to row 1 and then it still didn't get done. IMO it's about time they did that. Finally we will probably be able to move down and fill up a couple of those seats that are always empty.

Play off tickets will be available for purchase at the start of next week IF the team is still in the race within a couple games. Those fees will be refundable, just like last year.

I havent got my renewal yet but I will probably do the plan where you pay off the tickets within 4-5 months (w/e it is) I did that for this season and it worked out fine...

 

It is only a small payment each month.. Any idea on what they might give for an incentive this yr? Last season they gave out a get hooked orange Cabrera shirt.
