Im a Cane, so Im obviously biased, but why is all the blame going to UM? I saw the whole thing and I dont condone what Redick did at all or Bryant to a lesser extent, but what about the guy slamming and then kicking the holder Perelli, a backup QB? The whole thing was disgusting, but just because its UM against FIU doesnt make one side more accountable. Another thing thats interesting is that UM is letting FIU use the Orange Bowl next year while FIU renovates its stadium, so they could make them homeless if they wanted to, not that they should or would, but that is an interesting dynamic.

 

 

The worst part is Redick didn't even get ejected. He should be expelled.

I was at the game, and everyone in the crowd but me seemed to be proud of it. The UM fans were cheering as they started jumping with their helmets off. It made me sick. UM's players seem like they are just looking for a fight every game they play, and if they happen to play some football, that's ok with them too.

I will say that this is the last thing FIU football needed. On what should have been the most important moment in our short history, we have it marred with this. This is what most people will identify FIU football with, and while the idiots in the stands were cheering for it, anybody with any sense and who cares about the future of FIU football realizes this is exactly the kind of thing that sets a young program back a couple of years.

 

Sure, it's nice to show UM that they have to respect you, but you do that between the hashes when the clock is running, not when you have a highly vulnerable field goal holder standing around. without a doubt - i hate the "fake scene" you get in miami - seems like a trailer park playing dress up at times (in fairness we get that here in scottsdale as well............)

 

both have some incredibly bad areas - it just seems in philly it's easier to avoid and miami you tend to bump into the trash more often

 

everytime i've been in miami i've come across some jackass talking crap or had to go through an area i'd rather not - although I think philly definitely has some really nasty neighborhoods center city is fine and the outer burbs are fine - you just want to (and can) avoid the middle ring

Asia is a very big place - all he was saying is that some of the trashiest cities he has been to are in Asia - i'm guessing he says this because he has been there and is comparing it to other places he's been - hence providing a scale and a note of comparison

The UM-FIU game was crazy. I was scared to be there. Besides the fight on the field, it was the fights in the crowd - which were by far the worst in my section. Some male UM fan punched a female FIU fan in the face, and basically all hell broke loose after that and I witnessed people I know get tasered, strangled, and punched by the cops in the end. Lots of my guy friends kept holding me to try to get me away from the madness, and I was seriously scared about getting hurt. I've never been in the middle of something like that before.
