2007 Select-A-Seat

Featured Replies

Who went? I got the 15 saturday plan in section 146 and they gave me

a game used batting helmet which I later got signed by Scott Olsen.

Here are some pics...

omg..I'm so jealous of that batting helmet. that's awesome. My dad is still unsure if he's going to get season tickets this year, and I couldn't get him to come out to the select-a-seat. I really wanted one of the game-used things. :banghead :banghead

I'm thinking about just not renewing every year and then renewing at the select a seat stuff. They treat newcomers better than long-term guys.

Really cool helmet. :thumbup

I know man, i think im going to start doing that as well... We dont get anything but photo day :lol

LOL In past years I would have to agree with that train of thought, but not this year. Things have changed. And in so many ways they are showing long standing season ticket holders how appreciative they are of our loyalty. Here's just a few.

Did they get first chance at upgrades?

Did they get invited to the Holiday Party?

Did they get first chance at that 25 for $99 deal? Or other deals?

Did they get a holiday gift in the mail? (Okay. Mine hasn't arrived yet but a friend in Broward got his today so mine should be here next week.)

The list goes on and on but you have to take advantage of the opportunities given to you. And you have to weigh those opportunities and decide if they are worth more than a game used article. For us the answer comes down to one main thing. No way am I giving up our row 1 seats 1 and 2 that we worked so hard and so many years to get. LOL

You do realize that Select-A-Seat is open to the general public. I know alot of folks here treasure those photo opportunities. I would be willing to bet if you talked to your sales rep there and asked nicely he/she would be willing to part with something for you. You don't know if you don't try.

I don't go to the holiday party, I'm out of town. Everything else that happens "in season" (like photo days) new and old alike get invited to.

As for the upgrades, they're not exactly the hardest ticket to get. As it is, the Marlins are relentlessly trying to push the green seats on me.

I'm not saying that I advocate this strategy, it was purely tongue in cheek, but it certainly makes you wonder...

I'm sure being a long-term season ticket holder will pay off if/when a new stadium is built. Teams usually go by longevity when assigning seats in new parks. Let's pray that this finally happens and your loyalty pays off.

They have tried to give things back to the long term holders..

For me..

Upgrades? Didn't need it, LOVE MY seats!

Holiday party this passed thursday was nice, I also went last season to the one at the Stadium, it really wasnt holiday but to just talk to the fans and stuff..

Other special deals I dont need because I already have my full plan..

Did I get a holiday gift in the mail?  Not sure what it is, havent heard anything.. I mean I did get a Happy Holidays card from them.. Not sure if thats considered a gift..

As for the other stuff I enjoy like photo day and VIP at Fanfest.. I take advantage of all the things so it really isnt that bad... One thing im looking forward to is... Seat Priority in the new stadium :mischief2

I meant to go today but got dragged elsewhere. But I already bought 2 of the 10 game anyday packs for next year since I cant go to that many cames between (masters)college, work and everything else

btw that helmet rocks :)

Upgrades remark : Glad for you. But for 2 years we got stuck in Row 3 (note it took time to get down that far) and during the week would look at empty seats in front of us with the Seat Nazi coming over anytime someone planted their butts there to make sure they were seated in their correct seats. Exasperating, to say the least. NOW we are happy and wouldn't change them for anything, nor will we take the chance of losing them by not renewing at the earliest time.

Other special deals come in handy for some season ticket holders for various reasons. One would be to help friends that want the very best seats at the very best prices they can get before anyone else scoops them up when they go to the general public. Also to some biz owners to give out to different clients throughout the year. Just to name two reasons.

We get the card every year as well. But my friend in Broward got a call from his wife while he was at work Saturday asking him if he ordered anything from the Marlins and when he said no she read the letter and discovered it was a holiday gift from them. She wrapped it back up and won't let him open it til Christmas. So I have no idea what it is.

I have no interest in Photo Day and have been known to give my tickets away to fans that do enjoy that type of thing. But that VIP at FanFest is pretty cool. And seat priority in the new pond is a huge thing.

And like I said before. I would imagine if someone that is a regular season ticket holder went to select a seat and asked their sales rep nicely they would get that extra gift. I know I would give it to them if it were up to me.

BroncoBob, what section are you in? I'm in 125. Last year I sat in row 16, seat 20. This year I was upgraded to row 1, seat 3.

Hey Kim. Phil and I were talking about you just the other day. He asked me if I knew who you were and I said I thought you were the ball player from this board that had the injured hand last year. Correct? He sits right next to you now. Seats 1 and 2. Phil and his family are very good people that we stay in constant contact with the whole year. And you have to seriously consider going to the ST Home Opener (Thursday, March 1st) with us all. I'll be standing in line to get us all tickets come January 20th so let me know. Pay me back game day. During the season he usually dosen't show up until about the 3rd inning so you will have a chance to stretch out a bit. LOL

We are in Section 127, Seats 1 and 2. Finally moved down from Row 3, Seats 4 and 5. Waving distance from y'all. Look forward to sharing thoughts and opinions through the coming season, in person of course.

I didnt go today, but im still contemplating the voucher pack,...now to convince my parents that i would spend $300 anyway...

Tell them to get you the 25 games for 99 pack...

Ive seen both of you at the games, Im also in 125, seats 1 and 2 in row 3... Pretty cool we are all seating real close to each other.... As for the gift Phil, thats pretty interesting.. Do you think they are sending it to everyone or specific holders only?

I would, but because of college, I need the vouchers because I obviously am not coming in from CT for every game! Im home for 3 months and need the flexibility

Hey Bob,

That would be me! Count me in for the ST Home Opener. Phil and I were talking about that at the Holiday Party. I met his wife and daughter and saw Horatio (the guy that heckles Shane Victorino of the Phillies) again.

When I got my seat upgraded, it was originally in 126, row 1, seat 23. We would have been neighbors! But that seat was on hold for someone else, so my rep asked if I would take the new seat that I have now. I was like, "yeah, buddy! I know the people who sit in seats 1 & 2!" During the last month of the season the usher introduced me to Phil and after that Phil would ask the usher to come get me so I could sit with him.

I can't wait for the season to start!

I have no idea about that gift. Heck, I still haven't gotten my Christmas card. He dosen't know what it is because his wife wrapped it back up and won't let him open it until the 25th. LOL But he did say that it looks like some kind of plaque.

Okay Kim. You are counted in for the ST game. One ticket? Bleechers okay with you?

BTW Horatio is hilarious at the games. He kept it really clean in our section but from what Phil has told me he gets a little risque over there in your section. LOL I was actually kind of saddened to hear he opted to permanently change his seats to there. Wait til you see the Gold Glove routine.

Yeah, just one ticket for me. Bleachers are fine with me.

Done deal then. Up to 9 tickets now. Should be a great time. Maybe you could get with Phil or Horatio for some car pooling. I usually talk to Phil a couple times a week so I'll ask him if okay to pass his number on. But he usually has a car load for the ride. I believe Horatio is just bringing his Dad tho. Thankfully we have plenty of time to work all the little things out. LOL

I don't know. I don't even remember how it goes. LOL

I got a nice watch with the 10th aniversary logo on it from the fish in '03. I believe that just went to season ticket holders who have been there from the beginning.

And some season ticket holders get GU gerseys at the end of the season. I'm gettin one next year!!
